Capom Preparing Retro Homage, Mega Man Universe
Capcom knows how to bring the classics back. They did it with Mega Man 9 back in 2008 and now, they're set to do it again.
The new retro revival is called Mega Man Universe, a title that was trademarked back in April and will be coming to the PlayStation Network and Xbox Live Marketplace. A teaser video for the new game shows the Blue Bomber taking on Dr. Wily's baddies in multiple art presentations, but obviously, Capcom is going a bit further. Mega Man will actually be able to turn into versions of other historic Capcom characters, like Ryu from Street Fighter and Arthur from Ghosts 'n Goblins. And what else might they include? The video shows brief clips of other old-school classics, like 1942, Final Fight, Darkstalkers and Bionic Commando. Said Mega Man producer Kenji Inafune:
"This is something that you have never seen before, and we have included some hints into this teaser trailer. If you take a look closely, you will be able to imagine a lot of different possibilities. So try and use your imagination, and you may figure out what makes this game special."
But beneath all the extra stuff - use your imagination to figure out what it all might be - Capcom promises a "core experience fans want," which isn't much of a surprise. This is one publisher that has typically remained faithful to its old incarnations and long-time fans, so we can't wait to see what they bring us in Mega Man Universe.

They absolutely destroyed Resident Evil 5. Without Mikami, not sure they can ever rejuvenate that franchise.

that was such a enjoyable games, one of the best PSN games ive ever downloaded!
i wish more PSN games would have that retro feel, the old classic 8 bit graphics, quirky sound effects, 2D platforming.
now thats how you make a proper PSN game!
im still yet to download and try mega man 10, on my download list waiting till the end of the month so i can download it.
though, capcom are not known for keeping to a series, and giving their fans what they want.
there known for screwing up their famous series, selling out to bring in new audiences and completely changing the style of the game ala $E, ubisoft.
need i remind you of DMC4 or RE5?
remove dante from DMC4, remove the title DMC and you would not know its a DMC game!
remove chris and the other well known characters, remove the title resident evil and you would not know its a RE game!

Edit: Also did anyone else get a clay kind of feel towards the characters designs (like ryu) ?
When Ryu did the Hadoken it reminded me of Celebrity Deathmatch for a moment, haha
