L.A. Noire Has Euro Launch Date Of January 17, 2011?

The long-awaited L.A. Noire should finally be on the horizon, but what about a finalized release date?

Recent estimates have placed it in the fourth quarter of 2010, and all we have to go on are placeholder dates from GameStop and Amazon; the latter holding a date of September 1, 2010, which doesn't seem quite right. However, a new date has popped up: it's over at one of Amazon's European branches; Amazon.de. As you can see, the game has a January 17, 2011 date for that region, which may or may not be accurate. Last we heard, L.A. Noire was still on the "coming soon" list for Rockstar; most places say "Q3 2010" for the highly anticipated former PlayStation 3 exclusive. We're still hoping it'll release towards the end of the year but there has been a recent trend of releasing all new franchises in the first quarter of a year. The holidays seem to be reserved for the established franchises that are almost guaranteed to hit the market hard, and Team Bondi's promising title is definitely a fresh IP.

We'll have to see if Rockstar decides to issue a formal release date some time soon. We've been waiting long enough, haven't we?

With the release of Red Dead Redemption one can easily say that Rockstar is at the peak of their game right now. LA Noire is one to watch closely.

I don't have a problem with them taking their time making it right, I want this game but I want it to be goooood. Even with a DVD gimp I am confident these fellows can pull it off. I don't know a great deal about Bondi, but would Rock* release a piece of junk to follow up RDR? I think not. Don't you mess this game up too bad now MS, ya hear?

Why would MS be the cause of this games failure?...GTAIV and RDR were done on PS3, but then again Xbox 360 had better visuals. But then again that is subjetive. So if you are talking about that then I agree.

I am talking about the impact of making an exclusive a multiplat, exclusives always push the hardware and are the cream of the crop. Unless 360 is getting a port, taking a game multiplat always decreases the quality of the release.

People need to understand there is a great disadvantage when being forced to fit your entire game a DVD9. It has nothing to do with hating MS but everything to do with their backwards approach to video games. PS3 owners shouldn't be getting the shaft when it comes to multiplats or former exclusives going mulitplat because the Xbox can't hang.

There are some good multiplat games out there but its hard to deny that when it comes to exclusives Sony has the best of the best and there is a reason for it. Its a superior machine and a lot more can be done on it. If a game is multiplatform or goes multiplatform its only going to be as good as the weakest link which is the Xbox.

Lets face it, there isn't much on the Xbox, even in it's exclusive line up that is as good as what is offered on the PS3 in the form of exclusive titles. There is no doubt in my mind R* had to cut corners in order to make this multiplatform.

I'm interested in this game, but always questionable about 1 that starts out exclusive, then goes multi-plat, then can't decide on a release date.

Makes me a little wary with all those changes. It might still turn out well, but I highly doubt it will be as good as it could have been, had it remained exclusive.

Before E3, Rockstar said they wouldn't have a presence. They planned instead on a private event in "the weeks after E3". I don't mind how long they plan on us waiting. I'd like to have some idea of how long though.

Oh, LA Noire hasn't been exclusive for a long, long time. If that upsets you, boo hoo.

Totally agree. Fanboys are mad its not exclusive anymore, but seriously its not that big of a deal. Rockstar is giving us an exclusive in Agent...so be happy. Yes PS3 games have the ultimate quality, but people can still make good multiplatform games, but then again I haven't seen a multiplat out do a PS3 exclusive (well known ones).

I don't notice any real difference between GTA IV and Modern Warfare 2 in terms of the console versions. Of course, Modern Warfare 2 on PS3 isn't exactly desirable. Specifically, spec ops. Two people should be able to play co-op and get trophies, but two profiles can not be logged on.

The real next gen.

well according to gameinformer who recently had a lengthy preview of it gamescom will be showing off quite a bit this is why R* skipped E3.
it will be releasing in september, probably the last week of september id say the 30th something around there.
also, a guy from gamerhead i talk to now works for LA Noire hes adiment it will release this year.

i hope its a good game, its looking like heavy rain but more detective focused with a better storyline.
so i have high hopes for it, plus its been in development for a good 5 years now so.
plus R* has said this is there most expensive game, and probably the most amount of money EVER spent on a game!
so, yeah thats saying quite allot so i have really high hopes for this.

hopefully this is on the RDR side of R* and not on the GTAIV and midnight club LA side of R*, loved RDR, but GTAIV and MCLA are 2 of the most disappointing games i have ever played!
almost as disappointing as RE5 and crackdown 2!

Well, the game is made by R*, with thier track record. It will be delayed and come out some months later. So I wouldnt get my hopes up for thier 'confirmed' release date. Chances are, it will change!

and by the way, I think that now it is no longer a PS3 exclusive. The potential has automatically suffered a HUGE drop. Same in the way that GTA and RDR could have been made better and bigger. If they where PS3 exclusive. R* are now just becoming a money hungry company. They simply couldnt care less about the games they make, they no longer wish to baffle everyone or blow them away. Now they just look to do what is expected in the least. I also think with this that it will be a '1080p' game, but somebody will do a pixel count and the PS3 will actually be sub-Hd or 720p, and the XBOX 360 version will either be 1080i or 1080p. Meaning that PS3 will get the sh*t end of the stick, much in the same way that we did with RDR. I believe that the R* fan in me is slowly dying and the gamer in me just tells me to buy thier games because they have thier moments, but no longer make me want to play until my thumbs bleed. When will R* realise that most people now have both the PS3 and 360? When will they realise that PS3 exlusives blow ANY XBOX game out of the water and that if they start to make PS3 exclusives they will regain thier respect. I wish someone from that darned company would read this and open thier eyes!
