Gran Turismo 5 Pre-Order Cars Include "Stealth Models"
Okay, so you've pre-ordered Gran Turismo 5 by now, right? ...what, you haven't? Need more incentive?
Well, GT5 is all about the cars. So we need super special cars as pre-order bonuses, right? The latest info shows us three sweet cars that will be available through GameStop and Best Buy. If you pre-order at GameStop, you'll net the slick McLaren F1 Stealth, which has been customized for "increased performance" with a sports weight reduction and even more power (are they insane?!). There's also that cool "Stealth" carbon fiber paint scheme. But also, you'll get the Joey Logano Nationwide NASCAR series car so if you plan to really indulge in the NASCAR angle of GT5, this is a great option. Amazon is only offering one car, but it ain't too bad: it's the Mercedes-Benz SLS Stealth; the specs and stats aren't known but it features the same black "Stealth" presentation as the special McLaren, along with similar modifications. Right now, we only know about the pre-order bonuses for these two retailers, although we imagine others will soon toss their hats into the ring; what might the likes of Best Buy and Wal-Mart have to offer?
Man, anybody remember the McLaren F1 in Need for Speed II? That thing was just plain loopy. It seemed loopier because I think NfSII was the first in the series to feature traffic, and 220 m.p.h. amongst regular traffic is...LOL.

Well I noticed one of them is for a ps3 bundle, it doesn't say preorder says its for sale and it lists the bundle as a regular slim 120GB ps3, uncharted Drake's fortune, and gran turismo 5. I keep laughing every time I see it.
I'm pretty sure they don't actually have it and the workers there are too ignorant to know the difference, but I've considered taking it up there and demanding they let me buy it.
In case you're wondering it doesn't say GT5 prologue, it just says Gran Turismo 5, no prologue anywhere, believe me I checked.

Regardless, I think that all cars will available for everyone.
I also think these "stealth" cars show us what to expect with the customization features of GT5.
We should see in GT Auto a body shop, paint shop, and livery shop. These of course will compliment the features from GT4.

Anyway, I got my pre-order all set from Amazon. Free shipping, but $8.60 for tax. Can't wait.

I don't expect the body kits to be at NFS level, but I do see a splitter, wing, and side panels.
However, I do expect a paint/livery system due one observation. The liveries on the cars in game will scratch off. That tells me that they are not modeled into the car themselves.

Nice. I am trying to get some Platinums out of the way so I can do the very same thing. I have it pre-ordered, but since I am buying two of them, trade ins are a must!

Folks, if you claim to like racing sims, own a PS3 and *haven't* pre-ordered this yet, may I ask you in the name of all that's holy, why haven't you pre-ordered this yet!?

LOL! Well, I guess so. However let me tell you a short story. When Burnout Paradise came out it was a pre-order for us because we'd been playing the demo to death, and the Japanese demo version with the second car. 'We' being my wife and I. When we got the game we both liked it so much that we literally had to go get a second PS3 along with a second copy of Burnout Paradise because we were fighting over game time. Burnout Paradise made my wife a racing game fan. So I do understand why you wanted to pre-order Burnout Paradise.
Personally, having played GT2, GT3(A-Spec), GT4, GTHD and GT5P, I'm more than ready for GT5, and despite the long wait, I feel as compelled to pre-order as I did with Burnout Paradise.
But, I don't think I could make a 360KM round trip just to do a pre-order. No mail-order/online retailer you can use?

with MNR instead of getting either ratchet, drake or kratos i got all 3.
hopefully they will do the same with GT5, they normally do.
now all i need is a decent racing wheel, harvey norman wanted 400 for the G27 hopefully it gets a decent price drop once GT5 comes out.
ebay is not much cheaper either, and i will never be touching that hell hole ever again!
ebay = scam of the century!

anyway, a McLaren with less weight and more power. Is that technically possible. and if it is in the real world less stick that in a drag race against the Bugatti Veyron SS. that would be amazing.
I think many have seen the Top Gear episode where richard drag races the normal versions of both those cars and it was a good race. (it was. the veyron only won because it could get past the McLaren. the McLarnen has the faster acceleration)

But i read about an ultimate edition coming out for around £100 which would include a Die cast nissan gtr, GT Booklet and various other things which sounded rather awsome.
So i dont want to pre-order the game and then have this come out abit later.
Has anyone else heard about this and maybe know when it will be released??

I know that Amazon will be cheaper than Best Buy and GameStop, unless you have store credit. I don't care for the MB SLS, though. I would have pre-ordered by now but I'm waiting for more incentives to show up just before release. Regardless, I'll be picking this game up no matter what. Vroom vroom.
