Uncharted 3 Logo "Fan-Created," Nothing Official Yet
I think we all know that a third Uncharted is inevitable; last year's Uncharted 2: Among Thieves was a landmark achievement widely recognized as the best game of 2009 and arguably the best of the generation thus far.
But as of yet, there has not been any official announcement concerning Uncharted 3. This is why everyone got plenty excited when the logo you see here began to rapidly circulate around the web; some were hoping this indicated something official from either Naughty Dog or Sony. But we follow both on our Twitter page and it wasn't long before we saw the designer's reply to the logo:
"It's just fan-created, not an official Naughty Dog/SCEA page + we haven't made any announcements."
Well, that's mildly disappointing but it's not like the game isn't coming. It only means we likely won't be seeing the unveiling very soon, and we can live with that. Actually, in thinking about how Naughty Dog might make the third game better than the second, we come away stumped. Sure, there are a few very small things they could do to make it slightly better, but for the most part...damn, it was pretty close to perfection. It's almost overwhelming to think about what they might do with Uncharted 3.

Now they just need to outdo perfection on the third game. Sounds easier said than done, but if ND can't do it, then no developer can.

Uncharted is on a whole new level of expectation. Halo and COD don't have to do much to improve on their predecessors, but Uncharted?!?!?
How do you improve perfection???

Uncharted 1 was amazing for its time. It truly was the first game, well before MGS4, to show off the true power of the PS3.
Sure, Uncharted 2 lifted the bar ridiculously high for all action shooters, but Uncharted 1 was an unknown masterpiece in late 2007.
It's just such a shame that the term 'quality sells' isn't accurate in this generation, or else Uncharted 2 sales would be sitting on 12 millions sold and Halo 3 on 2 million. I hope Uncharted 3 will change that, now that its name has a reputation and is popular.

But I think we'll see some evolution in the form of action segments: flying, sky-diving, swimming. Perhaps, even a level in the desert, seeing how that's the only drastically different environment we haven't visited.
The biggest evolution would be an open-world, but, frankly I don't think we'll see an open-world with Uncharted-caliber visuals until the next gen, though inFamous 2 might make a close contender.

I think they could add a more modern cityscape to improve it. Maybe a chase scene through the streets of NYC, dodging baddies, having the AI driver narrowly missing pedestrians. Awesome. Also, a mall scene would be great (I think I've said that before.)
As long as they add a couple of new characters, a better villain (that's my only real complaint about these games, the bad guys have never really felt good. I like it when a bad guy can justify murdering dozens of innocent people for giggles.), more of the quick exchanges betweem characters, and... OH! FLASHBACK EDDIE! We need more Eddie Raja!
Peace.

they needed to link back some history, you jump in searching for that artifact but how did they know what it is?
how does drake know chole, how does drake know flyn, have some history and some background on the characters.
you go half way across the world to find the city of lost gold, find it, and leave.
no history on the city of lost gold, no detail on those purple guardians.
there was so much more they could of done with it.
uncharted 2 had a typical rambo hollywood storyline, just wam bam thank you mam walk in and blow everything up!

SPOILER I guess - (but everyone should have played this by now..cause it's awesome)
As for Drake "leaving" after he finds Shambalah....I seem to recall it crumbling into pieces as he ran across a bridge as it was destroyed. So I don't think he just left. Oh, and how about the fact that his chick was HURT and maybe he was thinking about saving her hot ass instead of playing around with some more purple guardians.....
He came, he saw, he conquered....he didn't leave...
THAT'S A 50 DKP MINUS for not knowing WTF is going on!!!!!!

Plus there is some explination of Chole and Flynn's history with Drake and If you read through all the book it explains more about the city and the gaurdians, along with containing amusing drawings.

I agree with you on predictability, but what exactly isn't predictable? As for lacking depth, the character interaction, and reasoning for the team doing what they were was a lot better than most other games.
It's mentioned that Nate worked with the other characters in the past. Yeah, sure I would have liked to have heard more about that, but that's the way it goes. Maybe they're thinking of doing another 'Eye of Inara' type thing to explain that.
As Sven said, Shambala was falling apart, so they all had damn good reason to leave. Maybe you should read up on the legend of Shangri-La is you want a bit of background and history on it. I believe that is what Naughty Dog would want rather than them having to explain everything.
I think I'm going to stop replying to your random.
Peace.

Plus, both of them don't explain these supernatural occurences/places. Why the hell does everything need an explanation nowadays? Can't we just leave it at "its supernatural and unexplainable?" Its works a lot better than turning it into science fiction and explaining how the SPOILERS
sap of Shambhala turns them into these purple creatures, and it would sound stupid anyways if they did explain it. Instead of complaining about trivial things, why don't you actually go get some culture and watch good movies, play good games, and try to understand why they're good.

However I'd rather see some gameplay footage before a logo, so lets hope the logo isn't the first thing ND shows us.
