UK Move Pricing Revealed, Gamers Might Be Encouraged

When it comes to new technologies, the cost to the consumer is always a big consideration.

We know what PlayStation Move will cost here, but what about in the UK? Well, that information has been announced: the Move controller itself will cost £34.99, with the sub-controller coming in at £24.99. However, if you don't have the PlayStation Eye, you might want to spring for the Starter Kit, which features the Eye, the Move controller, and a Starter Disc, all for £49.99. What's on that disc, you ask? The following demos:

  • Sports Champions
  • Start the Party!
  • The Shoot
  • EyePet: Move Edition
  • TV Superstars
  • Tiger Woods PGA TOUR ® 11
  • echochrome ii (PSN)
  • Tumble (PSN)
  • Beat Sketchers (PSN)

While they're only demos, this sampling should be quite satisfactory; you can really see what the Move can do in a variety of situations. And for the price, it's a pretty darn good deal, don't you think? Of course, pricing does drop over time so if you're still not happy with the cost, you can wait a bit. We gotta try echochrome II...

Not bad. Gonna hold off till i see a hardcore game that sells it me. Sorcery and Level 5's The Another World is the right direction for me....let's see.

sounds like a steal to me, i was thinking of trading in my wii and get kitted out with move, so i was wandering what deals there would be, with the sub controller it will only cost me 75 pound to get everything, am sold.

Did you know the DS3 can be used as the sub-controller?

50 quid bundle will do me. Very cheap considering I paid 45 for a DS3.

Move has yet to impress me.
It all seems too gimmicky. Its one of those things that may be fun for five minutes and then just gather dust.

If you have access to the latest episode of Qore, watch the Move tech demo footage. It's much more than a gimmick. I only hope that some of those tech demos make it into some games. Knowing Sony it will.

Did you ever wonder why Sony delayed offering first-party mouse/dongle/kb support for the FPS genre this generation. This is it. You point and shoot with the move wand, and move with the navigator controller. Doesn't get more core than that.

While the Move is certainly taking a modest swipe at what the Wii offers, Sony has made quite clear that they are aiming for core gamers. We won't be just seeing games made to use Move, but we will be seeing awesome Sony games as usual, that will use Move where it fits.

I'd really just like to see a Move+Nav combo. I have the eye. A demo disc would be nice, but I get demos off PSN every week.

And some places are doing the 'move' starter pack for only £45 which is pretty good if you dont have the camera.

I don't think motion sensing is that good... I mean it cool yeah but not for me. I'm an oldschool gamer... I love controllers. But since this is something alot different then... I think I'm gonna buy it.

Sounds like a good deal for the UK to me. It seems most of the time it's more expensive over there but this sounds pretty reasonable.

I can't wait for move, I think they will be able to do a lot with it, just look at sorcery, can't wait.

Very good approach to pricing imo.35 quid hits the sweet spot for one move controller and the starter pack for 50 quid seems like an even better deal.
hopefully I'll be able to pick this up for xmas

60 POUNDS! forget it! I'm sorry but i do not approve of this move at all. I despised it on the Wii and certainly will not be welcoming it on my PS3. I was in GAME the other day asn saw the titles they're releasing with MOVE, they all look so cheesy theres actually a game called FIGHT.

I've got 4 nieces (why couldn't I have a nephew?) but I think they would really like something like Eyepet or the sports games. Right now the games don't look much worth the hassle but when they come with the hardcore it might be fun to try with KZ3 and Socom 4. So yeah I'll get the rest of the package at some point. (Already have my eyeball)

what i cant understand is the price of the sub controller.
i mean the freaking wii nunchuck is 20 bucks cheaper here AND it has a gyroscope in it which the navigational controller does not.
yea its wireless, but a gyroscope is going to cost a sh*t load more than making something wireless!
