EA, Linkin Park: "One-Of-A-Kind" Medal Of Honor Trailer
Gaming is big business. ...we have to keep repeating that because there are bound to be a bunch of people going, "whoa, so like, bands as big as Linkin Park are like, in video games?" And for the record, the word "like" is starting to irk me.
EA has announced a collaboration with Grammy-award winning rock band Linkin Park for the benefit of the upcoming modern-day shooter, Medal of Honor. The popular group will headline the in-game soundtrack for the game but as an added bonus, the lead song to their new album, "A Thousand Suns," will be featured in EA's project. It's called "The Catalyst" and you can hear it below in an all-new, freshly released trailer. This trailer you see here is a "unique first-of-its-kind mix of live footage and intense modern military action from the Medal of Honor game," and it was directed by the band's Joe Hahn. For more, head to the official site. Said Hahn:
"This is a unique, creative association for us and a collaboration that we are excited about. The opportunity to help introduce 'The Catalyst' via the new Medal of Honor game creates a new bond between EA, our fans, and the band's overall vision for the new digital frontier. We are enormously proud of the music on A Thousand Suns and are excited to have created an exclusive trailer around the lead track."
For the record, Linkin Park was recently named the #1 selling Rock/Alternative Band of the Decade by SoundScan/Billboard, amassing more than 50 million sales worldwide. As for MoH, as if you needed to be reminded, the newest effort is the first in the franchise to focus on a war other than World War II. This time, it's all about the modern war on terror and it's centered in Afghanistan. You will step into the boots of the elite Tier 1 Operator, and the U.S. Military has indeed played a correspondent role in the development of this game.

It is shaping up to be a very good game. I just hope the release date isn't close to Ghost Recon because I am really liking that game and now, I don't know which one I want more.

there last album was a completely different style for them.
They used to be one of the best rock bands of their time.
They tried to change their style to fit the ever growing sad and lonely teenage songs, unfortunately, the new style, just wasnt right for them. Im glad they DID make a few songs that fit their older style, eg. What ive done, and New divide.

If that's the case, that would include you. I'm sure someone hates they type of music you listen to.
It's just meaningless chant. I don't mind a bit and you guys can go on about bashing of course, but I'm just saying it looks and sounds ridiculous when I see it. Maturity to the max huh?

It seems like they are really going to develop a strong narrative for this game, at least from the standpoint of emotional involvement. This is something we need.

i dont get it, a group of soldiers make a game based on real past wars and the media chops them too bits!
than EA go out, and enlist a few tier 1 operators to help them make MoH and its fine.
antivision have done the same thing with black ops.
WTF?
its ok for antivision to do it, its ok for EA to do it, but its not ok for konami to do it?
figures! the only one of the three that actually looked half decent is the one that gets canned!

As for Linkin Park, I'm not going to lie, they have some songs I like, but also some that I really hate. I think one of the reasons people dislike them is because they range so much in their music. They have rock alternative, rap, metal, and even some that are country-ish.. so in a way, it's also hard for me to decide if I like them or not.
