Sucker Punch Gives Us A Glimpse Of The New/Old Cole
When Sucker Punch unveiled inFamous 2, everyone was blown away. There was only one small problem: nobody seemed to like the new Cole.
In fact, the backlash was so severe that it couldn't be ignored. The developers eventually gave in and decided to re-overhaul the main character, although still noting that we wouldn't get the original Cole back. Well, we haven't seen that "in-between" Cole since that information, so our first glimpse of him came in the new GamesCom trailer. It's right here and although we only get a quick shot of the new/old Cole, it's enough for now.
It's not a full-motion video as you can see; it's basically a set of still-frame photos set to a classic tune, and it gives us a good sense of the game's atmosphere. If you want to check out that bad-ass gameplay clip we saw just before E3, feel free. Just input that brief image of the new Cole into that bit of gameplay, and you'll get the full picture. Now, about that voice...we sorta liked Cole's original voice, too.

One of the better trailers I've seen so far.
Stylish, cool, a sense of mayhem and fun.
God, I want this game so bad. Cannot come soon enough.
Might have to skip Dead Rising 2 and Mafia 2, save my pennies and wait for infamous 2.
Still getting Prestige Black Ops tho. As much as I hate Antivision right now, you gotta admit, they know how to make one helluva Special Collector's Edition for their COD games.

Switching that up and making him look like he belongs outside a Starbucks with an ipad in hand didn't fit with who we liked to play as. That's my opinion as a fan of the original Cole and first game.

by the way, if developers actually listened to their fans there wouldnt be really disappointing sequels of great game franchises. i'm not even going to pretend to use that cough act because i was so pissed. damn you square enix, you screwed up squaresoft. listen to the damn fans already and give us the FFV7 remake that doesnt stray even a little from the original. a graphical upgrade is good enough because those fans are still there and starting to disappear with every game you're crapping out.

John yikes man so much is wrong with your post where to start. What about his new image makes him a douche? Is everyone who has a different sense of style a douche? If developers only listened to their fans the industry wouldn't be where it is today. To many people are scared of change and new things they wouldn't want to see something new and different.
Sorry SE broke your heart but grow up they are trying new things, let them learn the hard way instead of crying about it.
I Platinumed Infamous 1 not that it matters but I loved everything about the game, I'm a huge fan. I think the biggest problem is changing his voice actor as that was where my connection was not with his aesthetics. Either way I'm still getting the game, heres to hoping they add alternate skins to please the masses.

This is a good point because the industry is all messed up today. Solid RPGs, Survival Horror, and other genres are all messed up because of the influencial sales number of FPS games like MW2. Sales of games that stick to the formulas that work are down. They should only listen to the fans.

Note how I said if they "only" listened to the fans. Obvious there needs to be a balance between fan input and the developers creative vision.
It's funny that this redesign started because most of the fans and critics hated the original Cole saying he looked average and mediocre and his voice was gravelly like Solid Snake or Christian Bales Batman. Then they make the change and people flip....
Oh well complainers will be complainers I guess.
Smart move would be different skin options from the get to and a couple fancy fun unlockable skins, that way everyone is happy...except the complainers I guess.

There's also a good developer video taken at Comic-Com where they talk about both, inFamous 1, & inFamous 2.

BTW, their new R&C4 video is also up on the PS store now too.

Oh, wait, wrong meme...
OK... that's no slideshow folks. That's in-game graphics that have been stopped so the developers can flythrough the scene. You can see the perspective change and the lighting effects alter as the viewpoint shifts. That's a lot more impressive than a slide show for me. It's a very cool way to get a trailer. Reminds me of the stuff that was done for KZ2 using the in-game engine to render the commercial footage. Nice.

Conspiracy: Was this all to get people up in a tizzy and create wacky buzz that got lots of news stories? Were WE sucker punched? ... Food for thought.

they skipped E3, they skipped gamescom are they still making games?
what happened to the LA Noire blowout we were suppose to be getting early this month?
this is what i hate about R*, there just like $E!
they announce 10 games, boast about them and show us nothing!
they talk the talk, but they dont walk the walk.
as the saying goes talk is cheap.
SHOW US SOMETHING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
max payne was suppose to release last year, we have nothing on it!
LA Noire was suppose to release last year, we have nothing on it!
agent was announced last E3, we have nothing on it!
god if R* announce a new game without giving us a typhoon of info on their previous games im going to scream!

1) I wanted to thank everyone at PSXE for continually saying how awesome this game is. Because of that, I went and picked it up about 2 weeks ago....and I've pretty much played it every single night since then!
B) House of the Rising Sun - excellent choice for the down-in-the-bayou game we're gonna get.
4) I like the "newest" Cole better than the "new" Cole, but still don't fully understand why the devs say that we can't have the "old" Cole....but I guess that will be explained further in due time.
3) That was a great trailer that gets me really pumped up. Did I mention I really liked this game? (1 trophy away from platinum)

As an aside. As long as you don't complete all the evil or good side missions, you can go to the "Titanic Battle" between the conduits and rake in about 500 EXP in less than a minute killing only the glowing conduits for 75 exp a pop, then just kill yourself and do it again. It's fantastic.

And that's with still needing just 2 more satellite up-link missions & 10 stunts left to complete my 1st play-through.
But I'm guessing I'll lose them all once I go & replay as "SOB" Cole, so I figure that all my points now are actually useless.

BTW, does anyone know for sure whether your points will carry over from Hero side to Evil side or not?
