Castlevania Launch Date Emerges From The Shadows
The fall is typically the most competitive time of year for the game industry, and it's almost inevitable that several big games will go head-to-head on the same dates.
Today, Konami announced the finalized launch date for the hotly anticipated Castlevania: Lords of Shadow; it'll be available for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 on October 5. Developed by Mercury Steam with the help of Kojima Productions, the latest iteration in this long-running series "introduces a fresh and radical re-imagining" of the series. You will play as Gabriel Belmont (voiced by Robert Carlyle), a member of the legendary vampire-hunting Belmont clan, and you must track down the Lords of Shadow to unite the pieces of a relic called "The God Mask." If you can manage this, you will "purify the world" and have the power to bring the dead back to life. Featuring over 50 stages, over 45 different enemies, 40 possible combo attacks, and mammoth bosses, this one ought to be a blast. You'll also be tested in the platforming and puzzle-solving categories as well. The catch? It has to compete with Ninja Theory's Enslaved: Odyssey to the West, which releases on the very same day. Which one will you spring for? ...how's about both?
We definitely want to play both. But if you really only plan to nab one, we'll be sure to let you know which is the better buy, in our opinion.

I get tired of hearing from the moral brigade when it comes to gaming. 'I won't buy an Activision game because someone did this' or ' I'm not buying a game because so and so said that'.
A good game is still a good game no matter who says what about something. Buy the game on it's own merits and enjoy it. Criticise after you've played it if it's not your thing.
Some of the most successful people in the word are real A-holes but they're more times than not successful for a reason.

But I most certainly wasn't calling him stupid. The only name calling I did was calling him 'dude'. Hope that didn't offend him.
If my opinion offended anyone in how it was presented, then I'll apologise.

I understand you have an never ending hate for the 360 but can you truly blame it for somewhat inferior to down right ugly ports to the ps3 in some cases? Is the 360 somehow interfering with the performance on the ps3? no? then stop blaming the other system when its the devs fault for not utilizing the ps3.

whats old is your constant bashing of anything related to 360, stop acting like the fanboy that all people here at this site know you are and use some common sense for a change. We get, you hate 360, they stole your wallet or something, who knows.
You're the same kind of fanboy that would claim Gears series is a must have if the game was exclusive to ps3 in its current state, and would find some reason to hate uncharted 2 had it been exclusive to 360 in its current state. I see right thru you.
But we all know how much you like to claim something as fact but can't prove it right? you couldn't even answer the simple question about the 3 games i mentioned.

I may be wrong, but I'm pretty sure this one's a break from the side scrolling and more down the lines of God of War action genre. That's how it looked to me. Had it been side scrolling I'd be interested in it, but I'm not into button mashing games like GoW, so won't be getting this one. Can still appreciate that it looks like a good title though. Just not my cuppa tea!

And, really? Castlevania versus Enslaved: Waste of time in the West? Castlevania for sure. The only thing Enslaved has going is another sexy redhead. That Monkey dude is annoying and dumb as Megan Fox. There is gonna be a ton of AI babysitting, and I bet you are going to spend more than a few hours doing bothersome time trials where you have to save the other character before something falls on them or scrapes their elbow or something.
If Enslaved has good reviews I'll still only get it on the cheap, and I don't see the sales doing as well as Heavenly Sword.
