Liars And Cheats DLC For Red Dead Redemption Detailed
Rockstar just won't let you shelve the game for good, will they?
The developers have just released the details for the next piece of downloadable content for Red Dead Redemption; the Liars and Cheats Pack will release on September 21 and expand on the Free Roam world. It'll add much-requested stuff like Multiplayer Poker and Liar's Dice, and Rockstar will give us a new competitive multiplayer mode, too. To clarify, this pack will include all the content previously announced as the Free Roam Pack. Thing is, although the latter was supposed to be a separate (and free) addition, "due to the platform networks' restrictions on numbers of free packs" they can hand out, they've added it to the Liars and Cheats Pack. We're sure you won't mind. Here's the list of features:
Multiplayer Poker and Liars' Dice Games
One of the most fan-requested features comes to multiplayer.
Multiplayer Horse Races
Ride out against your friends and foes online - with mounted combat guns blazing.
The Explosive Rifle
A devastatingly destructive new weapon with its own new single-player and multiplayer challenges.
7 New Gang Hideouts
Posse up and take on the new Hideouts together to level up quickly.
4 New Hunting Grounds
New Hunting Grounds are now visible on the map for all to see, with some of the most action-packed wildlife hunting yet.
Stronghold Competitive Multiplayer Mode
Teams take turns in attack and defense in multi-tiered Competitive games.
Posse Scoring and Leaderboards
Compare stats with other posses and compete to see who are the kings of the Free Roam frontier.
They're even including 15 additional multiplayer characters from the storyline, plus even more Trophies and Achievements. You can nab Liars and Cheats on September 21 for the price of $9.99 on the PlayStation Network or 800 Microsoft Points on Xbox Live.

It's a great online game but the connection is too unpredictable. I've lost track of the amount of times we've tried the MP and someone in the party would either not make it into the game or get booted a couple of mins later. So as much as this sounds like a great add-on, I'll not be purchasing (yet!).

the multiplayer has been bugged ever since GTAIV... R* should hire some genius online coders, or inquire about help from another company that does it right... their games are amazing but, very very buggy online...

I also think it is way too weak to merely offer respawning static mob dungeons in coop mode. The living and breathing world turns *dead* the moment multiplayer is turned on. And multiplayer poker should be there from the beginning.
I will buy this dlc though. So in the end I guess I'm the sucker... ;)
