Tron: Evolution Dated, Collectors To Boast Light Cycle Model
"Tron: Legacy" should be a big holiday movie for Walt Disney Pictures when it releases on December 17 but just before that, you can give the new game iteration a try.
Tron: Evolution has received a launch date of December 7 for the US; it will be available for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Wii, PSP, DS and PC. And if you're a big-time fan of the old movie (or the old arcade game), you might want to spring for the Collectors Edition, which will be on store shelves for the PS3 and 360. Following in line with other premium-priced special packages this fall, the Collectors set for Evolution will go for $129.99: it'll boast an exclusive Tron light cycle collectible (made by Sideshow Collectibles), and a special housing case for the model. The game itself chronicles the events between the first "Tron," which released in theaters back in 1982, and the upcoming long-awaited sequel. Disney is calling it a "companion piece" of sorts for fans, as the movie will reference events that occur in the game, but they also say both the film and interactive adventure will be able to stand on their own. We're really hoping for two great experiences, although we'd prefer a great game...
So, who among you is old enough to remember "Tron?" Or how about the old arcade game that required the reflexes of a cat God?

This game trailer gets me pretty excited too, but I'd like to see some good gameplay footage. The fact that it fills a little gap in the middle is pretty awesome though.
Anything dealing with Tron is a good thing....except the MCP of course, cause he's bad.

As for this game? I'm all for collectible light cycles. I love me some Tron and cannot wait for this movie to come out. From what I've seen of the game, it looks pretty spiffy, too.

I'm very interested in the game, but I'll have to pass on the collectors edition because of Christmas being so close to this game's release. I hope they do a good job with the light cycles and discs. I don't remember anything else they used in the games, other than those two things.

Yeah, I had tons of fun on my old intellivision.
But I actually loved my ColecoVision console even more.
I don't remember why I was such a dumba$$ for selling them(along with my Atarti 2600) but I plan on eventually re-buying them, along with as many of my old-time favorite games I can find.
Games like Donkey Kong, Stampede, Pitfall, just to name a few, and my all-time #1 favorite of that era........Burgertime!

Nahh, I started with the Texas Instuments computer, then jumped right to the Atari 2600 as my real first gaming console, then the 3 I mentioned above.
But afterwards, since I realized how bad a mistake I made in selling them, I have kept every console & hand-held I came across ever since.
So right now, I own(& still play) every console below (except for my SNES due to lack of space for it)....
Atari Jaguar w/a 64-bit CD adapter unit
Panasonic FZ-10 3DO(the sleek model)
SNES
N64
Sega Gemini
Sega Saturn
Sega Dreamcast
2X GameBoy Colors(Blue & Aqua)
GameCube (black)
Xbox
360 Elite Deluxe- (250GB grey & black COD MW2 skinned bundle)
5X PSP's,- 1 black 1000, 3 2000 slim's(Darth Vadar skinned white, Madden 09 Mettalic blue, & a Silver, plus 1 3000 Silver.
PS1
PS2 (fattie) w/HD network adapter
PS2 (Slim) white - Sing-Song bundle
PS3 60GB (Fattie).
But like I said before, I plan to pick those ones I had sold previously, also get a Wii, plus a lot of of the other older retro consoles & hand-helds too.

LOL, but I almost used up all of our forum trying to post all my gaming collections in there a while back.
Just for my 535 PS1 games alone, I had to break my list of them down into 4 or 5 posting boxes because it kept saying that I exceeded the amount of characters allowed, LOL
FYI, if you want too, you can go into each of the different console threads & see all my games that I posted there, but be advised that I need to update most of them cause I never stop collecting them.
But I really dread have to update it just because it's such a chore to keep having to re-break down my lists again & again, just so the forum will except it.
I really wish there wasn't a character posting limit, or that they could do away with it, because it's such a total pain in the a____.
Not to mention it would hinder anyone who needed to make a long post!!!
BTW, thanks on the SDTV hint cause I never even thought of that scenerio.
Right now, all my TV's are SD & unfortunately, the largest(my gaming TV) is only a 32 incher. But I'm hoping to get a 3D HD at 50" or more either next year or later once all the glasses-free 3D's are out for a while.
(2 manufacturers are supposed to put them out soon, Toshiba is aiming for theirs being out before this Christmas season)
