Control The Necromorphs In Dead Space 2 Multiplayer
Although it still won't be the prime focal point, multiplayer aficionados should get something original from Dead Space 2.
The original remains one of the very best games of the generation, and we're counting on nothing less than brilliance when the sequel arrives next year. The developers will also be implementing online multiplayer this time around but up until now, we didn't have any details...how would they do it? Would there be a bunch of Isaacs running around in competitive multiplayer? Nah. As EA revealed at the annual GameStop conference in San Antonio, players will control the Necromorphs against "standard soldiers" and vicey versey, and that's only a hint of the complete multiplayer presentation. By the way, if you pre-order the game at GameStop, you can net a Rivet Gun and the downloadable Dead Space: Ignition, so that should be enough incentive. Won't it be totally cool running around with those Necromorphs? It's like Alien vs. Predator almost!
This multiplayer could definitely separate itself from other options out there, and that's a good thing. But Dead Space 2 is going to rule in just about every way, so we're not worried in the slightest.

I agree with that. Survival/horror absolutely MUST be experienced alone for it to be effective. Hell, that's the point of the genre.

There are certain game series I don't worry about anymore. Series like Uncharted, LBP, Dead Space, Killzone; for the most part I feel like the developers have well...developed a certain comfortableness with the games they are creating despite the high quality nature of each sequel. That's why when it comes to these games I'm already assured that the developer has my best interests in mind and will create a well-polished game. So with Dead Space I'm really looking forward to the multiplayer component because it's something they have finally decided to dip into. I know the single player will rock hard and this is really where it's at for me but multiplayer can't hurt especially a company that focuses greatly on the single player experience.
