Duke Nukem Co-Creator: Look, The Pigs Are Flying!
It's just funny. The whole thing is just really, really funny.
And that isn't a slight against anyone involved, it's just that when you talk about a game for 13 years and it never arrives, it becomes a humorous situation. Let's just admit it. But with Gearbox Software at the helm and the rumor that we might even get a demo this year, Duke Nukem Forever might finally become a reality. And hey, if you weren't laughing before, you will now: back in 2006, Duke Nukem co-creator George Broussard told 1Up that we'd see DNF "when pigs fly." Remember that: "when pigs fly." And now, after Gearbox's hint, Broussard has produced a tweet, as found by GameSpy...and that Twitter update is a single link, which brings you here-.
Oh come on, that's gold. The question is whether or not Broussard is only making a comment in reply to Gearbox's work-to-date on DNF, or if he knows something we don't...maybe the demo really is coming soon. Maybe we'll actually download a demo called "Duke Nukem Forever" before the year is out. ...and maybe I'll just happen to bump into Ana Ivanovic at the US Open; she's feeling sorry for herself after losing, and she's all lonely and stuff and I just happen to wander by. "It's okay," I'll say consolingly, "you like ice cream?"
Seems just about as likely. But still, fun to think about.

But seriously now that I think about it....didn't the old Duke Nukem's have pigs in the game as bad guys? Anyone who's played the game has already figured out what that means but still makes you stop and think, "hmmm....." of course I also added my own thought of.. "Pigs in Jetpacks!?? F---ing Sweet!"
Anyways, with the line up that's coming up this fall? DNF is a long ways off my top ten list for now...

I think even if Duke did come back he would flop unless you had some pack of geniuses at the helm. You can't pull off the kind of classicness that was Duke 3D in this day and age because so much of what it did is old hat nowadays. Still, I'm a little tired of this hoax staying alive. To quote Duke himself: "Confucius say: Die."
