Arkham City Development Process Progressing Nicely
When Batman: Arkham City was announced, fans of Arkham Asylum were excited, but nevertheless a touch disappointed at hearing at the estimated release date of fall 2011.
In other words, we have to wait a year before we get Rocksteady's next gem. However, according to a recent OPM Podcast - as summarized by System Link - the game might actually be done already. It seems the developers can play it right through from start to finish, and we wonder if they really need 2/3 of next year just to polish, tweak, and fine-tune... Maybe they do; who knows? We're not game makers. Anyway, they also talked about a fun new enhancement called the "Boost Grapple," which launches you quickly into the air and allows you to zip about faster. We're also liking the sound of side missions and alternate objectives that will present themselves in the city, and then there's the possibility of co-op. It seems the OPM guys saw Catwoman sneaking off into the night "using the exact same moves as Batman." This prompted the co-op question, to which Rocksteady replied, "we're not talking about that right now."
But anyway, the most interesting part is obviously that bit about being able to play all the way through. Of course, the game isn't "done" but maybe it'll arrive earlier than expected...? The earlier the better for this one.
