Enslaved Golden, Two Fates Intertwine On October 5
One of the most anticipated titles of 2010 is exactly one month away and now, you can chisel that date in stone.
Today, Namco Bandai has announced that Enslaved: Odyssey to the West has gone gold. It will release for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 on October 5, 2010; the production features "influences and contributions from top music and film industry talent" and focuses on a post-apocalyptic US where machines are now dominating what is left of the human race. 150 years in the future, war and destruction have razed the landscape and mysterious slave ships roam the land, capturing survivors and disappearing.
There are two main characters: the tech-savvy young woman, Trip, and the physically capable Monkey, and they'll need to combine their talents if they wish to survive. Players will control Monkey, who enters combat with a stick weapon (along with some ranged weapons) and is capable of running, leaping and - as we've seen in some gameplay - zipping around on a hoverboard-type thing. But Trip will be crucial in scouting the environment, offering intel on enemies, identifying optional routes, and upgrading Monkey's skills.
There are several pre-order incentives if you put a deposit on the game at participating retailers, and that includes some cool downloadable content. More DLC will be discussed down the road.

How many copies makes it Gold? 100,000?
I'd play a demo and I'm looking forward to Ben's review as always but I remain teh skeptical wun. I like creative characters like in Beyond Good and Evil, but this game seems to be based somewhat in reality and a monkey man (named Monkey) and a pigman (named Pigsy... oh dear. Kramer was right, the government HAS been experimenting with pigmen for years) doesn't bode well. I'll try to keep an open mind for the single reason that Ben seems excited about it. But if it came down to this and Castlevania, I'd go with Castlevania.

EDIT: Thank you World you beat me to it. This game has even had release dates before. I'm not saying it is still just vaporware, and I would love to have it become a reality but seriously this game has been a bigger tease and laugh than a FFVII remake.

Not only that, but it seems to be a proper action adventure game, rather than having Hack 'n' Slash or TPS elements, which is just brilliant. I think that I've made up my mind on which game to get.
Peace.

The characters names in that story are used in the game, Trip would be Tripitaka and monkey is the Monkey King even Pigsy is a name from the original story.
here is a link to information concerning the Chinese story.
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Journey_to_the_West#Main_characters
I think that using "Journey to the west" as a basis for the story of this game is a pretty good idea.

Also, the original Dragonball was inspired by the same. Just more reasons to be interested in this game so far as I'm concerned.
Peace.

castlevania is looking like the game GOW3 should of been so im slightly leaning towards that, but than i loved heavenly sword so........
god dam it why do developers have to release all there games in the same month?
we have had absolutely nothing all of June, July, August, September, and now everyone decides to release there game in October or November!
what, did i miss a law passing that states all video games are not allowed to release during June, July, August or september?

First of all, concerning the Uncharted look-a-like, besides the colorful world and landscapes shown in this game how is this in any way like Uncharted? Most people on this site chatter about how dry and washed-out most games look and now that a team is trying to paint something colorful it's compared to Uncharted's backdrop palette?
Now I personally can't say that I want this day one because I haven't seen enough gameplay to justify such reasoning. I do believe; however, that this game has the potential to be one of the best this year and I will stand by that when it releases.

I'll wait for the review before really passing judgement though, it might surprise the hell out of me and Ninja Theory are a great studio.
This game just doesn't look great to me.
