Quantum Theory Demo Now Up On Euro/NA PSN
It looks a lot like Gears of War but also features a few twists on that third-person shooter formula.
And if you live in Europe or the US and own a PlayStation 3, you get a chance to test it out before anyone else. According to Electronic Theatre, Tecmo Koei has announced that a playable demo of Quantum Theory is now available to download on the PlayStation Network. Xbox 360 users will get a chance to try it "later this month." The demo lets you take control of Syd, the big bad-ass warrior with only one thing on his mind (revenge). He teams up with the mysterious Filena who doesn't have to rely on guns; she has a unique combat technique that provides a nice contrast to Syd's blasting style. You must battle the Diablosis, a black material that seems to infect anything it touches, so get ready for a rough ride. Electronic Theatre offered some quick feedback:
"Quantum Theory is clearly shaping-up to be a title worth keeping an eye on. While it may never compete with the blockbuster budget available to Epic Games and Microsoft in terms of visual fidelity, it certainly got enough interesting ideas to propose a new direction for the genre."
Quantum Theory is set to launch on September 24 in Europe; it holds a September 28 release date here in the US. Of course, we'll give you our impressions on the demo as soon as we get a chance to sit down and play it (probably tomorrow), and we'll also bring you Tecmo's answers to your questions soon.

If you're looking for more color than Vanquish, this isn't the game. As far as the game play goes, its almost identical to Gears. Clunky controls and heavy characters. Vanquish is mucho better than this in my opinion.

It was just an average game but in the 20 some years I've been playing games I have played more broken games than it. Also the dialogue is fun probably the best part of the game.

The graphic felt like a 2008 game, no wait, HELL NO!!
Even Heavenly Sword looks better, or even worse, Gears 1 looks betters.
Even the gameplay sucks.
I didn't expect anything from Quantum but wow, nice going Tecmo.
I actually spent more time on the Sengoku Basara demo and that was fun.

melee was a joke, it didnt even stun enemies. you cant even shoot your gun after using a melee button. they even have 3 buttons for melee attack.
shotgun was a peashooter. i was in cover with an enemy on the same cover, aimed as best i could with blindfire, shot the guy right on the face, and he just got up walked back while shooting at me.
i just cant get over how horrible and slow the movements are. i want to describe them as tank like but i like using the tank in bad company 2. i know you can hold x to run but i cant even guide him while running. i'll have the stick tilted to the left or right and hes still running straight ahead with only a hint of turning. that quote is just trying to sell a crap game. it should read Quantum Theory is clearly shaping-up to be a title that you NEED TO AVOID. seriously, i dont like gears of war that much, hell i havent even played it that much. but to compare to this game to gears, epic should be pissed off.

I LOVE the idea of it, it could of been AMAZING, but almost everything seems to have been done opposingly. The voice acting, the orchestral music style....just completely opposes what i would want out of this idea....ah well.
