Buy Refurbished PS3, Get God Of War III For Free
So maybe you're a little behind. Or maybe your old PS3 died and you need another one, and you never got a chance to play one of the generation's best.
Some gamers tend to shy away from refurbished systems and in all actuality, they have valid reasons. I distinctly recall working at EB when they started with the refurbished PS2s and those things were horrid; we actually got to the point where we would ignore policy and replace busted systems with new ones. The refurbished ones just inevitably came back the next day, or so it seemed. However, the good news is that the PS3 refurb situation is much better, and you can really benefit if you want to pick up a used PS3 from GameStop: one source has turned us onto the deal, and we've confirmed it with a few local GameStops. It's simple- buy a refurbished PS3 and get God of War III for free. The cool part is that all PS3 SKUs are indeed included in this limited-time deal, so you won't be forced to get the standard PS3 Slim. If there's another available, go for it...you'll still get the game.
That isn't too bad of a deal. We're talking about what may be the front-runner for Game of the Year, after all.

The good news: Sony were able to repair it both times, so I didn't have to buy new systems and inflate the sales totals.

I was trawling eBay yesterday to try and pick something up. There is a good one for $200... original 60GB and in mint condition. I may pick it up... Seems like a good deal GameStop has got going there across the pond...

The Euro 60 GB systems were like the original NA 80 GB system (e.g., the MGS4 SKU): partial emulation due to only having the PS2 GPU.

And, I have to say, the level assets of GOW3 are the most mind-blowing one's I've seen so far in a game, and that counts for something in my estimation. I didn't dethrone Uncharted 2, but for 2010, it did surpass my favorites of this year (ME2, and RDR). i'm sure, though, both RDR and ME2 will soak up the larger number of GOTY's across the internet.

For example, many years ago, Samsung put out a $300+ VHS/CD/DVD/ unit, with full memory card readers too.
Around the same time, Value City(now defunct) had 7 of them as refurbs for only $59.99.
Well, I bought 2 of them and I'm happy to say both are still going strong to this day, and it's got to be 8 or 9 years now.
And with that $480 I saved, I was able to put it towards my gaming collections.

It's just a matter of vacuuming it well.
One of the most stunningly beautiful game I have ever seen/played.
