PSXE Poll Update: Duke Not King, But Still Pretty Cool
With the news that Duke Nukem Forever is actually coming, we wanted to know: is it still "Hail to the King, baby!" or has Duke lost his sex appeal?
Well, it's somewhere in between. The majority of gamers think it's pretty cool that Duke is back, and a healthy percentage are quite excited. However, about 40% of those polled are indifferent to the whole situation, so it seems that his 13-year absence has taken a bit of a toll. Firstly, there's a whole new generation of gamers who have never even heard of him. Secondly, there's a large number who are just sick and tired of FPSs (especially those that don't appear to bring anything new to the table). Thirdly, there's the skeptical group, comprised of people who aren't 100% convinced that Gearbox can deliver a top-notch, must-play product. But even so, it's actually a little surprising to see how many gamers are just tickled pink that Duke is back, and they really can't wait for his return. Well, you know, people are probably going to be split on this issue until we get more info and media, and that's plenty logical.
This week, we're wondering if you're a PlayStation Plus member. If not, are you planning to sign up some time soon? Or does it not interest you? Plus is the new premium service available to Network subscribers; the regular service is still free, but you can land a few great perks for the price of $17.99 for three months or $49.99 for a full year. What say you?

But other than that couldn't care less 'bout Duke's new game.

Someday I'll get ps+, no rush on my part.
Could have probably gotten into the LBP2 beta if I was a + member though
I'll see, the great thing is that this is not mandatory.

I don't know what to think of PS Plus. Currently I'm looking at it because I've been itching to try out all the Warhark expansions which appear to be FREE right now for PSN PLUS users (do expansion packs go away when inactive?) I also want to give those Soldner X games a shot and they discounted for Plus members.
I think I could justify buying a 3 month Plus membership to obtain the immediate value of Warhawk expansions, plus I want to play that GoW demo(patience Temjin it'll come free in time)..
I dunno.

Plus isn't my thing for now. It's quite a good service but I imagine its most beneficial to frequent purchasers (of which I am not).

wipeout i always wanted to try but could never bring my self to spend the $20 on it. i knew it would be worth it but just never did.
my cousin game shared warhawk with me and then they gave out all the dlc when he didnt have it. i shared that back and we have the full game.
critter crunch is a game that i never would have gotten but after i played a little i went to my buddies house and MADE him try it. we were both hooked and play it online sometimes.
cuboid i have been playing on and off very fun game and i got that for cheap during the sales and plus discount. all the dlc came with plus also.
my timing on my qore subscription ran out in june luckly and now i still get to see those. they may not be the greatest thing ever on the ps3 but i do enjoy seeing some of the stuff on there.
that god of war demo is really cool.
this doesnt even include the ps1 games or the minis i havent played yet.
i have over another year of games comin my way. so far it aleady has been worth my $50

Best quote from the game, IMO, was when you were in the bathtubs with the naked chicks and Lo Wang asked: "You want to wash Wang? Or you want to watch Wang wash Wang?"

As for PS+, I don't have my PS3 hooked up to the net, so no. If and when I do hook it up, I still sincerely doubt that I'll get it as I just don't see the appeal of it. Sure you get a whole bunch of free games and discounts and whatnot, but it doesn't feel right to me, so, it's a not interested.
Peace.

simply because his attitude, its so funny, not embarrassed by anything and cocky as hell!
thats why hes had such a effect on people, this industry and me.
i mean i very rarely play old games, in fact ive still almost all my old PS1 titles but never play them.
except crash obviously, thats almost a weekly ritual i can never get enough of the bandicoot!
i love duke so much last night i was scrummaging the draw in the computer room, saw my old disk for duke nukem 3D and nostalgia hit in, i just had to stop doing what i was doing, and install the game and half at it all over again!
i never go on a random playing spree like that.

Definitely psyched for Duke Nukem though, that was a household name when I was a kid...well, younger anyway.

I'm not the least bit interested in Plus. I'd have to spend a lot more money on discounted DLC just to feel like I broke even on the $49.99 up front price tag. And paying for temporary "free" games that Sony chooses doesn't interest me.

Duke made such an impact with just one game, that he will forever be king.
Duke coming back is like an Elvis comeback for video games. Duke 3d is one of the greatest games ever made.
I never saw the poll though (ps3 browser) and didn't vote.

As far as PS+, I very rarely buy anything from the PS store. The occasional DLC for a favorite game, that's about it. So it just doesn't offer me anything I'd find to be of value.

I am a PS+ user.. anyone who hasn't yet signed up for playstation + and are thinking about doing so, sign up it is and will always be worth your money. Just like frylock25 mentioned you might end up playing games you might not even considered..

Already a PS+ yearlong member. With 3 free months for going with the 1yr, it only made sense. It's not a commitment! It's $50 for 1 whole year! I spend more than that on cigarettes every week and a half. Yea.
One immediate flaw that struck me with PS+ was the layout for members. Nothing seems inviting or... Welcoming. It's like the carnival jockeys just let you on a ride they turn their back to. I hope Sony will make the sections a bit more enthusiastic towards your membership. Login and see "Hey there buddy! Here are your perks! Enjoy!"

Damn, I just looked through my collections & found that I only have 1 DN game, Duke Nukem:Total Meltdown on my PS1.
So just how many other DN games are out there on consoles, and what are those titles & for what consoles???
As for PSN+, I'll wait a bit cause I'm more interested in using that $50 on a Move controller right now
