Marvel vs. Capcom 3 Set to Do Battle During Q1 2011
Looking forward to seeing how the Capcom camp stacks up against the Marvel mob? Well, the first quarter of 2011 isn't too far away.
Originally planned for a "spring 2011" release, Capcom just put Marvel vs. Capcom 3: Fate of Two Worlds on their schedule for the fourth quarter of their fiscal year, which runs between January 1 and March 31. This according to the publisher's annual report to investors, and it fits right in line with the publisher's recent release behavior. They're really into avoiding the holiday rush and dropping their biggest titles in the first quarter of a new year; the last two Resident Evil titles, Street Fighter IV and Devil May Cry 4 all launched within that Jan-Mar time frame. Said Capcom in the report:
"Traditionally, the demand for other companies' major software peaked during the Christmas season, which corresponds to the third quarter of the Japanese fiscal year. For this reason, Capcom followed a strategy whereby we launched multiple major titles in the comparatively slow fourth [fiscal year] quarter. However, in recent years, other companies began following the same strategy, making the release of multiple titles in the fourth quarter a risky proposition."
There are plenty of big-name games set to launch in the first quarter of 2011, including Killzone 3 and Dead Space 2. So how do you think MvC3 will fare? Will you be in line to pick it up? Fighting fans have enjoyed plenty of great titles already this generation, including the aforementioned SFIV; that genre has seen quite the resurgence, huh?

It don't matter to me though, I'm basically committed to just Tekken and DOA. I'd give VF more time if I didn't think the series was going down the tubes.
I've learned over time that it's better to restrict myself to a select few fighters rather than getting diluted in the plethora of so many different fighters. My timing gets all messed up when I switch between too many.
Though SF is ready to take DOA's slot if Team Ninja doesn't do something with the series on the consoles.

this is MvC, not x-men nobody cares about cyclops or any other playboys
marvel is involved w/ the production so it's already looking beautiful, and you can tell from all the SF games that capcom can well handle the technical stuff. i'm for one stoked
