LBP2 Delayed In Japan, But Sticking To November In US?
Update: Unfortunately, Media Molecule has confirmed LittleBigPlanet 2 has been delayed worldwide until January 2011, citing the need for extra time to create "the best experience possible."
Original Story:
Arguably the biggest PlayStation 3 exclusive for the holiday season - Gran Turismo 5 might take the cake - LittleBigPlanet 2 is likely a legitimate Game of the Year contender.
...but which year? While the beta testing is in full swing, it's possible that developer Media Molecule may have spotted something that would cause a delay. According to the game's official Japanese website, as cited by GameSpot, the hotly anticipated sequel now has a 2011 release window. LBP2 is supposed to be Move-compatible and up until now, it has held a November 2010 launch date for both North America and Japan. So what's the deal? Does this delay affect the US and Europe as well? The good news is that no, it doesn't appear likely at this point in time. No other source can be found that hints at a LBP2 delay for the NA/EU regions, and retailers like GameStop still say the game will be here on November 16. We're hoping it stays that way; Sony really needs this game for the upcoming holiday season, and we've already got plenty of huge titles in the first part of 2011, Killzone 3 included.
We'll keep an eye on things and let you know but for now, just cross your fingers that LittleBigPlanet 2 sticks for the US.

I prefer my SP games have compelling stories and interesting characters with depth. There is no denying LBP is a game all about fun and I commend the creators for filling a niche that as of now can only be found on the PS3.
Unfortunately as I stated before I didn't enjoy the SP offerings of the first game and I don't want to invest time into the 2nd one when there are so many other games out that I enjoy.
So yes it's my loss if I end up not playing LBP but it's my gain for having the time to invest in games I'm actually interested in.

I know what you mean, creating levels took forever and it was hard to make a good one. However one of the key things I heard about this game wanting to approve was the time it takes and ease in creating the levels. It might be worth it to try it and see for yourself.

I'm sure if you wanted you can add some people on this community. I for one have plenty of room on my friends list and I would be glad to play LBP with anyone from this site.

***Never mind I just wiki'ed the first game, & that's why I can't find it, thought it might have have been an xbox or PS2 game.***
I really love the Tim Burton look & feel to it.
Damn, it would be awesome if he really lent a hand in doing these Alice games.

BTW, if you eBay for it, you can find a PS2 to PC controller adapter cord so you can use your own controller. I think I paid about $2 plus $3 shipping for it(coming from a export business in China).
Also, if you have a "5Below" store near you, they were selling a 2.4 GHz Game Elements PC controller complete with vibration, keyboard & mouse emulation software, turbo function, rubberized on the side grips, plus the RF dongle that snaps into the bottom of the controller when not in use.....for only $5.
FYI, it looks about the same as a Dualshock 3, & has the exact same layout, but it's slightly bigger & has a beefier feel to it, which is good for anyone with the bigger Shrek sized hands, LOL

What about Killzone 3, Heavy Rain, MAG?? And the bundled games look pretty enjoyeable (in a kiddy-sense) like Sports Champions, Start the Party. Heck, Time Crisis would also make me buy Move!

LBP is nothing like work. It's hand's down the most fun I have had on the PS3. I haven't even tried to create a single level (I have neither the patience nor any iota of design skill) but the fun to be had exploring the awsome levels other folk have made is limitless, especially in multi-player. Those of you steering clear of LBP because it seems like daunting hard work are making a big error and missing out on what is, IMHO, PS3's most glorious experience

Media Molecule have put out a statement:
LittleBigPlanet 2 is a crazy dream, a dream to allow players to make whatever kind of game they want, but also to play though a great adventure of drama and excitement, power-ups and cinematics. But like all the most ambitious ideas, it can be a considerable challenge to turn these dreams in fun games. We've all been working like powered-up space ninjas and we're almost there, but because we love what we've made, and we love our little sack-friends, and most of all we love all our fans out there, we couldn't let you all get together until we knew we were giving you the best experience imaginable. Which is why we've taken the hard decision to delay the worldwide release of LittleBigPlanet 2, originally slated for later this year to January 2011.
We know this will come as disappointing news for all you LittleBigPlanet fans, and believe us, we are disappointed too. We are a tight-knit team and we take enormous pride in our work, so to raise the bar we've set with the original LittleBigPlanet, a game that has been so embraced by all, we've agreed to allow ourselves a bit more time to deliver the experience that our great fans and community deserve. We are truly sorry, but hope you understand that we have to build the best possible game, as it is the foundation of our community.
On the upside, we are going to find a way to give more of you a taste of LBP2 prior to launch, so stay tuned.
Thanks for your continued love and support, it won't be long – we promise.
Lots of love from all at Mm

One reason I'm intimidated to create any levels in the original LBP was because the dualshock input is really slow. Once I saw how much time and effort other gamers spent, I didn't continue any further. It took me hours to create just a car meeting my standards. This type of game really needs a smooth mouse-like input. I hope Media molecule take advantage of this delay to add and perfect the MOVE features.

How did the first one do in Japan?
