Polyphony, Red Bull Introduce Project X1 For GT5
Gran Turismo usually has a car that sort of goes above and beyond imagination. Remember the GT-One in GT2?
Well, have a look at the all new Project X1, which is primed to destroy the competition in Gran Turismo 5. Polyphony Digital asked, "what if you could create the ultimate racing car, a vehicle unbounded by rules or legal racing conventions?" And Red Bull stepped up with the answer:
"Red Bull’s aerodynamics expert, Adrian Newey, performed the role of technical advisor on the X1 Prototype project. Adrian is renowned in the motorsports world for designing championship winning cars. Throughout the X1 design process by Polyphony, Adrian contributed his vast experience, as well as a pure, child-like technical curiosity. As a result, the completed X1 Prototype became an extreme car, having a unique form and mechanism unlike any other racing car in history."
It's only a brief look but it'll suffice. The only question now is, "what sort of insane stuff do we have to do to unlock it...?" Maybe it'll only be a winnable prize in one of the game's most difficult races, or maybe it'll cost 10 million credits. Either way, any true hardcore GT fan will want to have it in his garage, so prepare to work...
For some screens, feel free to check out GTPlanet.

Max, I actually hope you're right. I hope it's god awfully, controller bustingly, new telly buying hard. That car, if anything like I think it's going to be, deserves nothing less. Maybe Gold all the licence tests, and first place all the endurance races in A-spec only.

And maybe that's how you unlock it? Once you accumulate a certain amount of racing time you'll unlock it? (200+ hours? lol)
I hope it's like this. Once you reach 200 hours of racing (living the game in the menu doesn't count) you'll definitely be ready to drive something as insane as the X1.

No other studio that specializes in the automobile genre has a semi-professional race driver as development lead. In my book, that real world, on track, behind the wheel knowledge translates to an authentic one of a kind experience that no other developer can match. Sure, their have been several quality attempts, but none of them have the race proven background as the core of the franchise.
Now, I am not saying that GT5 is a perfect game. That's an impossible feat that has to be done in the series, nor ever will be. As Kazunori-san has continually stated, he always wants more time, and his never 100% happy with his finished product. He calls the release of GT "stressful".
I know a ton of fans weren't happy with the 5 year development time, but I for one am glad that PD took their time to put out the best product they could. It may be missing a feature or two that you wanted, but when it comes to looking at the big picture, GT5 will truly be a revolution...

It really feels like you're in a real race. Definitely the most polished version of GT ever....
I love the physics, it truly is the most amazing part of GT. Every car handles differently, you'll notice this right away.

Anyway, the X1 looks to be a legendary car. Only available in GT5! Hell yeah! Man, imagine an online race where everyone races against every one using this car? A X1 exclusive race? OMG!
November 2nd!
(Blade Kitten is my favorite game right now. What a beautiful platforming masterpiece! Great character, fun gameplay, lots of fun treasures and goodies, upgradable everything, and amazingly huge levels. Blade Kitten for the win!)

since its your wifes ps3, there wouldnt be a problem sharing the game right? i mean let her sign on her account on your ps3 with a subaccount, check previous downloads, download blade kitten, and that should be fine. i think you can actually share content with up to 5 ps3s. you'll have that blade kitten game as long as your wifes account is still on your ps3.

On a side note, what games (other than GT5) is the G27 wheel compatible with. I really want to get one see, but I can't really justify spending five hundred dollars if I'm only going to use it with one game. Of course, it doesn't help that I'm already spending three hundred on it for the SigEd. But yeah, help anyone?
Peace.

I saw this vid last week & I got to thinking about it.....that they should make the Project X1 insanely hard.
Then, as an added incentive, they should add a grand prize to it for the very first person who unlocks the X1.
And the prize should be that they get a new 1-of a-kind GT-skinned 640GB PS3, blazoned with the look of faux look of diamond-plate, and also, the whole catalog of Polyphony games free for life, both past, present, & all future games made.
Plus, put their accomplishment into GT-6 for prosperity, somehow.
With that said, I already know I'll never unlock that X1.
But....if they decide to let us unlock a crash-test dummy, don't even bother thinking about it cause I've already got that one nailed!

GT5P and the latest demo did not have those working, so you could not use the clutch to change gears which was really disappointing!
WTF is the point of having a racing sim, if you cant use the clutch?
tis like buying a super car in automatic, completely utterly pathetic and ridiculous!
