Grab ModNation Racers PS3, PSP For New Low Price
If you've always wanted to give ModNation Racers a try but never got around to it, now's the time.
It has been announced that both the PS3 and PSP versions of the game have dropped significantly in price. You can nab the PS3 one for $39.99 and the PSP version for $19.99, and with over 1.5 million track, kart and mod creations available right now, that's one heck of a good deal. As revealed at the Blog:
"For the low cost of $39.99, there are over 300,000 tracks to race against friends via split-screen, online against players around the globe, or with AI in single-player. You never have to worry about players memorizing tracks–you can make each race a unique experience that levels the playing field. And if you want to race on the go, you have over 15,000 tracks to choose from on your PSP for $19.99!"
Yep, it's the concept of Play, Create, Share taken into the charming racing venue, and it has worked rather well. In only five months time, over 600,000 players have logged into the Network and that number made the aforementioned 1.5 million fresh inventions. With the holidays right around the corner, one must seek out the savings, all the while remaining entertained. Well, ModNation Racers is great for the whole family, and you can really lose yourself in the customization features. Have fun!

It was NEVER "minutes". People just think it feels that way. After release, the longest load time I ever experienced was 52 seconds at start up. After start-up, you would occasionally wait 25-30 seconds. but now it's less.
I loved this game and platinumed it, so... to each their own, I guess.

I've always wanted to play more than just 30 tracks in past Kart games like Mario Kart, Crash Team Racing, etc.
This game truly allows that feeling of racing in a limitless world.
Great price, Sony should advertise it for the holidays. This is game is a good game to market for the holidays.

i was sooooooooooooooooo excited for this, ive always been a massive kart racing fan, got into the beta late last year and it left me as giddy as a school girl!
finally got to play it, and o boy was i disappointed!
cheap cheating AI is what mainly put me off, i mean every single time i attack a enemy he either dodges or blocks my attack.
if i had a nickle for every time i have been tailgating a enemy, fired off a rocket and he blocked it i would be the worlds richest man by now!
come on, not even flash himself could react that quickly!

Typically, the AI will save up a full 3-tiered attack and fire it as soon as it's charged. You can slow it down by dropping two-tiered bombs behind you (getting hit with a tier-2 attack, takes off one charge on your weapon) or you can drop 3-tiered weapons behind you which removes their weapon altogether.
Keep in mind, you should drop them right AFTER the mnr weapons bubbles. Like... not far after... 2 feet maybe. Since 3-tier drops have an AOE, you can take out more than one person. (Which boosts your charge and removes some threat.) Those familiar can see how this helps.
Also, spend time practicing your timing on blocking attacks. I now know how to block everything. I just get the lead, then protect it. No boosting or anything. My charge is 100% committed to blocking attacks.
Lastly, in races with lots of racers (more than 7 I'd say), do NOT give your kart full speed in lieu of acceleration. If you get hit, it will take you FOREVER to get up to max speed again. Obviously, max out acceleration over speed if you still haven't figured out how to block well.
