Platinum Will Make Bayonetta Sequel "When The Time Is Right"
Although the PlayStation 3 version suffered - a mistake the developers likely won't make twice - Bayonetta remains one of the most critically acclaimed action titles of the generation.
And for all the fans hoping for a sequel, Platinum Games has hinted that it's a definite possibility. In speaking to Eurogamer, studio co-founder Atsushi Inaba said they "would love to make Bayonetta 2," and they do plan to embark on the project "when the time is right." Inaba is producing the team's stylish new shooter, Vanquish, and was responding to questions involving a Tweet from fellow co-founder Hideki Kamiya. When Kamiya was asked if there would be a sequel, the DMC creator simply replied, "I believe so." But Inaba has also clarified that "there is no concrete plan or schedule" they can talk about; it's just a vague plan that should come together in the future.
"But Bayonetta is definitely a special IP for us. We loved creating that game. We think it was a really good game. We would love to make a sequel to it when the time is right. That's all we can say."
Bayonetta averages 90% in review scores based on the GameRankings tally, even though the PS3 version lags a little behind at 86%. Vanquish appears to be almost identical on both platforms, though, so if Platinum did bring back the leggy vixen, PS3 owners probably wouldn't be left out in the cold. Just a guess.

A sequel with lag-free awesome graphics on PS3 will be exciting, hope they don't make a crappy port again, just build from bottom up directly on PS3.

GTAIV being the first, obviously!
i seriously can not see what people see in bayonetta, i mean it is a complete button masher which requires no timing, no strategy, no skill what so ever!
just mash square and triangle as fast as you can in different combination and wallah you finished the game!
yea, not exactly a recipe for GOTY!
at least in games like ninja gaiden, or DMC you need to actually time your presses, instead of mashing square constantly you need to wait till your attack makes contact than press square again otherwise you end up doing a pointless weak attack.
thats why ninja gaiden is the most popular action game, because it actually requires some strategy, some brains, some attention to detail.
not that mash square as fast as you can!

Another reason to look forward to TGS 2011.
