GTAIV Complete Edition Spotted
It seems that one of the best games of the generation will make a triumphant return this holiday season.
Readers and gamers alike have spotted the arrival of the Grand Theft Auto IV: Complete Edition at several retailers. Both Amazon and GameStop have listings for such a collection, which has a release date of October 26 and holds a price tag of $39.99. GameStop presently only lists it for the Xbox 360 but Amazon has both PS3 and 360 versions (although it only has an image for the 360 one), and neither retailer shows a PC version. As you can see by that one available image, the package will boast the previously released expansions for the award-winning title: The Lost and Damned and The Ballad of Gay Tony. This Complete Edition is fantastic for anyone who missed out on GTAIV but if you already have it and didn't get a chance to nab the DLC, there's an Episodes from Liberty City pack that gives you both expansions at once. For the record, Rockstar hasn't officially announced anything but it seems like perfect timing, doesn't it? All we need now is confirmation of the details.
You can bet packages like this, along with Collector's and Limited Editions of big titles, will be all over the place this holiday season. It's just inevitable.

Simulator of what? What were they simulating? I found more interesting features in San Andreas (learning how to shoot, drive fast and accurate, working out, etc.) than GTAIV...
It has quality but I thought it was inferior even to GTAIII in terms of story at least...
The only reedeming quality was the ending, doesn't matter what you choose, Niko gets so screwed...
My opinion...

The story of Niko is one of the most engaging that I've ever played. Sure, the quick turn around of the mission givers was a bit of an 'eh' kind of decision but that doesn't change the fact that I, at least, began to legitimately care about Niko. Seriously, I ended up shotgunning Darko's lifeless body about a dozen times. Niko needed revenge.
Peace.

I know it's a matter of taste, but I found support characters like Brucie or Little Jacob extremely annoying and boring, I liked Lance Vance or even Big Smoke a lot more than the other dudes...
Anyway, I think the story could have been written a little better, FOR MY TASTE...
If someone liked it a lot, that's fine and I respect that...

If I wanted to be sad or depressed at the end, I should have read "I am legend" or "What dreams may come" for that matter...
I like more a happy ending, a WTF ending like Resistance 2 or a bad ass ending like Apocalypse, not a depressing ending like GTAIV....
My opinion, as always...
Anyway, it's a good discussion buddy, nice talking to you...

But with that said, so far the self-loathing Dwayne has been my main man in the game & I'm hoping Niko can change his outlook on life.
And I've only had one date with Carmen so far, the frigging whiny, little me, me, me, me only, biatch is truly grating on my last nerve.
But, I will go out with her again just in the hopes of shoving 12 inches of grenade right up her high-maintenance conceited a$$.
Anyways, I'll be getting the new edition just to get the expansions packs. Especially as a biker, I want that Lost & the Damned pack just to see how realistically, or how phony, they portray the club life as.

Don't worry about the ending, it's somewhat obvious the outcome around 60% of the game...
Oh, and wait until you start dating Alex, that's a girl you wanna hit in the face with a shovel, she's just your average, annoying, bragging, conceited brat you find hanging around at a Starbucks...
Although you get some nice pics of her ass though...

What's done is done, so no problem.
McClane,
Hmmm, I haven't had the displeasure of meeting Alex just yet.
I guess I'm getting close to your obvious outcome part though, cause I'm now at 58% now and the only mission(that I know of) I still haven't conquered yet is....
***Spoiler Alert****
.....here Ray sends me out to handle the biker.
I keep getting my motorcycle plastered on the front of a subway car or run over by another train coming up behind me.
***end of spoiler****
And I'm a long-time biker, ironic isn't it?

Yes, it's a pain in the a$$, Niko's bike driving skills sucks big time, it seemed to me that he was surfing instead of driving a bike...
Anyway, I don't recall that mission but once you get to the Dimitri's missions, you're almost done with the game....
You just have to put the pieces together and even before you begin the final mission, you know the outcome...

***spoiler alert***
It's the part where Ray sends you out to get the diamonds back from the biker who originally took off with them during the museum gun battle.
You catch up to 2 of the bikers, but they suddenly jump on their scoots & roar off, while taunting you to try to keep up with their riding skills. You then grab one of their other bikes & chase the two of them into the subway system & trying to avoid rickety tracks, center support I beams, the concrete sidewalls, & the trains themselves, while also trying to maneuver some off-shoot track routes & a bridge trestle.
Whew, I finally got through that part last night.
I shot one of them on his bike while chasing him, & an oncoming train took out the other one. But that damned train knocked his exploding bike into me 6 times in a row, causing me to die, either instantly, or get thrown to the opposite track where another train killed me, or actually knocking me & my bike off the bridge altogether with me dying as I was plunging down to the water below.
Great fun to be had!!!!
***End of spoiler alert***
Anyway, I just figured out the best riding mode last night. For myself, the trick of riding the bikes was that while I always drive my autos & trucks with the "inside cockpit view", I can only ride the bikes correctly in the "further-est away 3rd person view" mode.
And once I tried it that way, the bikes wound up being almost breeze to throttle & turn.
Can't wait to try out the biker TL&TD expansion pack.

I think that's one of the 2 last missions from Ray...
Anyway, going back to the ending part, pay attention to the stories of Roman, Packie and Kate, that solves the whole ending...
Don't forget to date Kate, that's crucial...
However, if you need help, PM me, I played that sucker 3 times, well, 4 because I missed a gold trophy...

Anyway, I don't really see the point of this. I mean, if anyone hasn't already purchased GTA IV, they need shootin'. And I'm reasonably certain that anyone that is interested in the episodes would also have them by now which makes this superfluous to all but collectors. Oh well, it's GTA IV, it'll sell enough to be justified. Now, give me something on the next iteration, aye?
Peace.

Heck, I just noticed your post to me.
Yeah, I'm hoping I'll be impressed, but at the moment, I'm kind of peeved that R* didn't have Niko either place his helmet on the seat, or at least hang it from the handlebars.
I mean, WTF....there's no frigging way that "ANY" motorcycle rider throws his/her helmet to the ground, let alone any real biker doing that
Unless of course they're a R.U.B.* who probably would flaunt his money by buying a new helmet every time he gets off his bike.
*(derogatory slang for what we call a phoney Rich Urban Biker, a POS poser who only has a bike to use as a f*cking status symbol)

and the expansions delivered more side stuff to do but, i still went back to doing shenanigans when i freeroamed... GTA IV has the best car physics of any game i've played... they feel so life-like that i have a blast just riding around blowing sh** up and fleeing the cops...
and you said to not mention multiplayer but, i think multiplayer is the best aspect of IV... aside from the PC games (which i don't care to play), GTA IV did bring the sandbox to the world of multiplayer... and playing this game with a few friends is the greatest thing ever...
so yea, this game kicks san andreas in the ass...

Arguably one of the best.
In my opinion one of the most overrated.
