Gearbox: We're "Dead Sure" Duke Nukem Forever Is Coming

It's coming. Honest to goodness, right hand raised, it's coming. Heck, the developers are just ironing out a few kinks.

According to GamerZines, Gearbox Software says Duke Nukem Forever is "feature complete" and right now, they're just focused on "bug-fixing" and doing some fine-tuning and polishing. Studio vice-president Steve Gibson confirmed all this, and then added a particularly amusing set of comments that certainly rings true.

"We wouldn't bring the game and tell people it's coming otherwise.

With most games once you're about 75% sure it's going to be released, you announce that it's coming during this time, then announce an exact date. With Duke, given the way it is you need to be dead sure. So that's where we're at; we are sure."

Well, the guy's right about that. "Did Not Finish" has had countless release dates and release estimates over the past 13 years or so, and now that Gearbox is so close to the finish line, it all seems so...surreal. We may not have an exact launch date but now, we can say with all sorts of cool certainty that Duke Nukem Forever will show up for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC next year.

Alert the media. Oh, wait...we've been on alert.

Actually I haven't watched it in months. Just made a slight reference to the movie in an article earlier today and was FORCED by Ben to continue with the quotes so actually I'm well over 10 quotes thus far.

Seeing as how Gearbox games aren't that great, this has the potential to be either their best game or their last mistake.

@Alienange gearbox made the two expansions for the original half life and those games werent bad they also did the ps2 port of half life as well as the pc port of halo combat evolved. and they made borderlands which was also pretty good. not to mention the brothers in arms games. actually most of there games get pretty good reviews

Well I'm Dead Sure I'm getting it or Gearbox is Dead. This pansy generation of gaming needs The Duke to kick ass and chew bubblegum while he's all out of gum.

Got to admit I was skeptical even with the trailer but it sounds more and more legit. Looks like I'm ready to buy that bridge.

Then again, Ben raised the wrong hand in paragraph 1.
