Dead Nation To Support Offline And Online Co-op At Launch
Who wants to kill zombies alone? Sounds like a two-man job.
Dead Nation will be lurching and shuffling its way onto the PlayStation Network soon, and you'll be happy to know that it'll launch with online co-op play. As revealed at the PlayStation Blog, Housemarque's highly anticipated downloadable thriller will feature offline and online co-op and you should be thankful, because the online bit wasn't originally intended to come immediately. But the developers have succeeded in squeezing it in (working 16-hour days helped) so now you'll be able to experience all the insane entertainment with other players, right from the bloody get-go. They're also boasting of "big gameplay levels with tons of replay value" along with a "weapon upgrade system and cool weapons to bring a new tactical dimension to the gameplay." Well, tactical or not, there are still zombies, and we still wanna mow 'em down any way we can.
Who's looking forward to this one? The PSN can always benefit from quality, crowd-pleasing titles, and all gamers know it's fun to annihilate the walking dead. It's an a priori truth.

I agree that the PS3 can benefit with more quality-exclusive downloadable games. More PSN exclusives that is, seems the Minis just don't get the job done ay?

Other than that the ps3 is sadly graced with a rather sorry bunch of mediocre coop'ers. It's like "network gaming" was something they discovered yesterday ("hooray, lets make... death match and ctf, y'all!"). However Lost Planet 2 actually deserves honourable mention. It's not that bad at all when played in coop There are some memorable moments where you actually do have to cooperate. :) Not to mention some reaaally mean huge son'of'a'bosses.
Resistance2 *Could* have been fun had it not been for one of the most idiotic concept ideas ever: Lets force everyone to run in circles at least four times on the same map before getting to the next. Yeah.

I wonder why people are so scared to co-op their campaign mode these days. Glad to hear some titles keep that alive.
