Alundra, Arc The Lad Venture Onto PSN This Week
Some weeks ago, we told you there was sufficient evidence to support the idea of two great PS1 classics heading to the PSN.
Now, they've been confirmed: MonkeyPaw Games has announced they'll be bringing both Alundra and Arc the Lad to the Network, which ought to make old-school RPG fans happy. Unfortunately, Working Designs (the original localizing publisher that made such titles available in the US back in the day) won't be handling any part of this digital distribution, so forget about fancy extras. Working Designs was well known for handing out little collectible figurines, cool cloth maps and soundtracks with their releases, if you didn't know. Anyway, the two classics in question will become available this week - October 12 - for the standard price of $5.99. MonkeyPaw also made mention of promotion via "historical swag from the titles' original releases." ...we're not entirely sure what that means but we're assuming we'll find out soon enough. We do know they won't show up in the PS1 Imports Store because they were both localized and released here; so regular installments they will be.
If you never had the pleasure, I definitely recommend both, especially Alundra. It could almost be called a Zelda for the PlayStation and remains one of my all-time favorites.
