DNF Campaign Is "Huge," 3x The Size Of Last CoD
With multiplayer dominating the world of shooters, those who prefer to play alone have only one question these days: "how long is the single-player campaign?"
For some time now, many have noticed that games with an emphasis on multiplayer tend to skimp on the single-player; after all, a studio only has so much money and resources. But it seems you needn't worry about the above question in regards to Gearbox Software's Duke Nukem Forever. According to what Gearbox boss Randy Pitchford told CVG, the hugely anticipated game will not only be a "big, triple-A title," it'll also be long and absorbing. Said Pitchford:
"The campaign is huge. It's probably three times the size of the last Call Of Duty game. And it's great through and through.
"Any time I play I play it, at any given moment, I'm having a great time and I want to see the next moment. There's crazy set-pieces and, in that regard... if you're expecting this to be a fizzle-out, a low budget thing, you're going to be like: 'Holy sh**! Oh my God! This is no joke!'"
He goes on to say that we shouldn't expect perfection - what game is absolutely perfect? - but apparently, we'll all be "astonished" at how big it is. In fact, he says it's about "three times the size of the last Call of Duty game," which would be 2009's Modern Warfare 2. That campaign was maybe only 5 hours in length so can we assume DNF is at least 15 hours long...? Is that fair?
Well damn, we'd be happy with that.

ok and if no one read what i wrote right after that i said unless the game blows me away with awesomeness and coolness i will just wait. Unchated 2 offered me not only a long single player but a kick ass co-op. no one seemed to understand this next sentance to my statement. God of War 3 was not very long but its epic and full of awesomeness.
i dont care much for standard multiplayer so even if this has that i wont care much. i have burned myself to many times buying games at $60 that didnt offer my moneys worth.
Jawknee said he paid $13 for the new medal of honor and isnt that happy with it. imagine if he had paid the $60 out of pocket plus tax.
it is still to early for me to decide on this game but there are games that offer me more than 15 hours of play. if it has other reasons to buy it other than a long single player than i will be more interested. its been 13 years the game could be a giant mess or it could be great.
Thank you Limited you seemed to get what i meant in my statement, which uncharted 2 i did get right away at $60

If this clown knew anything about an fps he'd have bragged about DNF's epic online gameplay. But he's not. Which leads me to believe his game will be nothing more than a sp flash in the pan.
Or are we supposed to be impressed that they've got an hour of campaign for every year of development?

I'm starting to not buy games that i don't hear good things about the campaign. Developers are losing their touch for an emotional story nowadays. Now its just go kill this fag and do it again.

"yeah, but after 12 dam years it better be!"
thats not exactly a achievement though, i mean MW2 took me around 4 hours to complete so this should last around 12.
not bad, but certainly not what i expected, i mean its been in development for over 13 freaking years!!!!!!!!!!!!
Almost shat my pants this arvo, IGN had a article saying DNF is coming to AU.
typical my luck, its only Brisbane.
:(
guess im getting some plane tickets tomorrow!
