Valve Delays Episode Two Bundles
When it comes to Valve, we can usually expect a darn good product. But there's another thing we've come to expect from the publisher: numerous - and sometimes lengthy - delays.
We were all looking forward to Half-Life 2: Episode Two on the PS3, Xbox 360, and PC for the summer, but now it seems both the Orange and Black Box have been delayed until "this winter." Now, that could mean just in time for the holidays, or it could mean not until 2008, which is even worse. The release date was never really cemented, especially if you're familiar with Valve's history, but this is still a disappointment.
There's no word on whether or not the recently announced contents of each Box will change, nor did Valve give a reason for the significant delay. We can only assume it's a necessary delay, and one that will ultimately benefit the gamer. After all, we certainly remember just how great Half-Life 2 was, so what are the chances Episode Two and all that sweet bonus content turns out to be crappy? Nah, no way. It'll rock.
But we still have to wait longer, and that's just no fun. And in case any of you have forgotten what you'll be anxiously awaiting: the PC will receive the Black Box, which will feature Half-Life 2: Episode Two, Portal, and Team Fortress 2. The PS3 and 360 get the Orange Box, which includes all that plus the original Half-Life 2 and the first episode.
