Cage: There Is Nothing On The Horizon

When you make a masterpiece like Heavy Rain, the entire gaming world waits anxiously for news of your next project.

And for a while now, we all thought Quantic Dream's next game was dubbed "Horizon," a name that has been floating about for most of 2010. However, there's something you should know...it isn't real. In speaking to the Official PlayStation Magazine UK and as noted by GamerZines, studio boss David Cage has clarified- "There's no project called Horizon currently in development at Quantic Dream." Well, damn. As it turns out, it was something else entirely:

"This is a codename that one of our partners used in casting sessions along with an unrelated script to avoid leaks from actors. It seems it was definitely a wise decision."

That's true. Actors are indeed prone to leaking things about unannounced projects, and the developer's proactive prevention plan seems to have worked. Therefore, rumors about "Horizon," which supposedly included the story of "a curious man very insularly meeting a free woman who is hesitant to exercise her freedom," are incorrect. Well, perhaps there's something to the story idea but the game itself certainly isn't called "Horizon."

Well, great, now what do we do? We have to look forward to something from these guys. Can't we just have a little hint...?

I really do hope that they are working on something, and whatever it is, I hope it's every bit a masterpiece Heavy Rain is, or maybe even better.
Quantic Dream have churned out great games so far, hope it continues.

That's pretty smart of them. If only Sony can learn their magic and avoid leaking their hardwares and their names like months ahead of the announcements, ie PS3 Slim, PSP Go

Well, this throws all of my hopes and dreams of a new game by Quantic Dream out of the window.
But I suppose I can just hold out a bit longer....hopefully Quantic Dream brings out some more Heavy Rain goodness...even if its not called 'Horizon'. *sigh*

I'm cool with continuing to call it Horizon until we get something concrete. I mean, if it's the devs code for the newest game, or something relating to it, why not?
Peace.

Bummer. Well they've got to be working on something. Hard to imagine they would just be sitting on their hands this entire time. I know Move may have taken a quite a bit of time and resources but I would think they would have something coming down the pike.

No, no, it's Ninja Theory. They're going to reboot FF7 as soon as they're done with DMC5. Complete with more westernization and Unreal Engine 3.

=p

Omikron was one of the crappiest games ever made and there are many PC gamers out there who can attest to that. Ontop is also a shame that someone talented as David Bowie who would associate him name with such a title.

Ah, I see. Well, to be honest, first game I've played by QD was Farenheit, I didn't know they made other games before that. Oh, and I don't mind you replying to my comment, you know. Just don't make a separate comment all the way down here, if you can, please.

Just ignore him Wolf. He's completely wrong 98% of the time, the other 2% is just nonsense. He hasn't even figured out how to use the reply button yet.

or maybe hes doing a jaffe and trying to throw us off.
either way wish they would hurry up and announce it!
heavy rain is by far the best game released this generation, no ifs no buts by far the best game released ever since the new consoles released!
the story was seriously stupid, too cliche typical hollywood but besides that the emotional responses, the way the game made you feel was absoluley freaking incredible!
never did i think a game would make me cry!
