Enslaved DLC Adds Pigsy Gameplay And 3D Option
You know what we like? Downloadable content that expands upon the single-player story.
Namco Bandai has announced the first batch of DLC for Enslaved: Odyssey to the West. It's called Pigsy's Perfect 10 and it'll be released later this year along with the option to play the game in 3D. The new pack tells a side story to the main plot, and it's focused on Trip's fat friend, Pigsy, who wants to build a perfect companion out of scrap parts. Yes, we will play as Pigsy, which means we'll have a very different gameplay experience...Pigsy is no Monkey, remember. If you played the game, though, you remember Pigsy's grappling hook and sniper rifle, so that right there should give you a clue... The addition of 3D is pretty cool, too, and remember that you don't need a 3D-compatible TV and the corresponding glasses: it's TriOviz, which means any TV can manage it (it just isn't as good as true 3D).
We're not sure when these updates will come, but at least we know they'll arrive for the PS3 and 360 versions of the game before the year is out. How often do we get DLC that isn't multiplayer-oriented? Of course, there is no multiplayer for the game in question but even so...the point remains. Enslaved: Odyssey to the West is one of the more enjoyable experiences of the year. Give it a try if you haven't already.

"In addition, when a player downloads the new DLC, the core game will receive a TriOviz for Games Technology update, enabling all aspects of ENSLAVED: Odyssey to the West to be experienced in eye-popping 3D. The lush environments and action packed fighting sequences will literally jump off the screen, providing players with an exciting, immersive experience. Fans that have a 3D-enabled television can play the DLC in 3D utilizing Stereo 3D Active Shutter Glasses.
For gamers that do not have a 3D-enabled television, Stereo 3D vision will be available on all 2D HDTV sets through the use of innovative TriOviz INFICOLOR 3D glasses. These glasses will be available for purchase via ....
TriOviz for Games Technology adds incredible depth-of-field while maintaining the integrity of the original gameplay and visuals. Players can experience both the main game as well as the new Pigsy story in 3D. The retailer bonus alternate costumes for Monkey or Trip will also appear in 3D for those that have them already. I guess the TriOviz works pretty good, but if my memory serves me right, it doesn't reproduce the special effects in 3D. So basically, you see the depth of the characters and the BG's in 3D, but nothing else. Seems sort of odd to me. But maybe it's better than nothing.
EDIT: I rented inFamous at the same time and it got nearly ALL of my time =)

Anyway, sp dlc doesn't usually add anything (unless you're Rockstar) but I guess it'll come down to pricing. If they think they're going to charge for 3D they've really lost their minds, but I can see spending a couple bucks for another run through a game.

They are way over rated in my opinion and that dude with the "creature on his head" as Shams put it(LOL!) bugs me.
