Neptunia Goddesses Enchanting PS3

Nippon Ichi continues its hot streak of delivering fulfilling, in-depth RPGs within the structure of a charming, comical, eye-catching atmosphere.

NIS America has announced a new game from the makers of Trinity Universe: it's Hyperdimension Neptunia for the PlayStation 3 or as we in the west will probably know it, simply Neptunia. Idea Factory brings you to the distant land of Gameindustri ('cough') where you will meet the heroine, Neptune, and her friends Compa and IF. They embark on a journey to save the mysterious Histoire who apparently holds the fate of the world in her hands. As you progress through the fantastical world, you'll meet "some curiously familiar buxom goddess friends who, despite their 'flaws,' join up to aid you..." Players can expect a unique combo battle mechanic and the "exclusive HDD transformation that turns Neptune and her goddess friends into sexy war machines." Yeah, this sounds a lot like NIS, doesn't it? They've got Prinny 2: Dawn of Operation Panties, Dood! for the PSP in the works, and ZHP just launched. We'll have to wait to get some release details for Neptunia but RPG fans should be happy to know it's coming.  This one could be pretty darn good.

We always follow NIS so you can be sure we'll take care of the review for this one when it arrives.

Trinity Universe was pure torture, I really WANT to like these games but even though I like the battles, they never offset the rest of it. I'll try to keep an open mind though because I still like anime silliness and pointlessly stupid plots when put together properly.

Indeed. There needs to be more than a combat system, there needs to at very least be a story with internal logic. It doesn't have to be truly compelling, but it has to be more than an excuse to play with a combat system.

It's almost like NIS and others are building these 3D, turn based RPG game engines, but they really need a third party to bring in decent character and story.

Absolutely, there has to be some tiny reason to suspend disbelief here.

I outgrew this stuff around the same time as I did Carebears and My Little Pony.

That's the point! If you read up on this game, each of the Goddesses represent a console: Sony, Ninty, Sega, Xbox.

It seems like 3rd party exclusives have been on the raise lately (like Dynasty Warriors 7 and Way of the Samurai 4). I hope this continues

Oh I know about this game! The "familiar buxom goddess friends" you'll meet will be from places such as "Leanbox", "Raystation", and "Ruii".

And since the game takes place in "Gameindustri", take a wild guess who will be the three representatives from those three places I just mentioned.

This game is a parody of the games industry through and through, and if you guys go to the link posted below, you'll find more info =D

I also think there is a Dreamcast goddess in there as well.
