Gran Turismo 5 Launch Update...Again

You wish to remain up to speed, yes? ...you enjoy a silly play on words every now and then, yes?

So here's where we stand on the great Gran Turismo caper...yeah, I'm calling it a caper because I'm pretty bored with the unofficial "updates." Anyway- firstly, not long after saying "the discs are being stamped," Kazunori Yamauchi says he believes GT5 will be on store shelves before Christmas. When Autoweek asked the question, "will we be playing it by Christmas," Yamauchi answered, "I think so." Then there are some European retailers who seem to think the same thing, listing dates like November 26 and December 15. Finally, there's Sony's own store, which says GT5 will be available "on or about 11/30/2010." Okay, so that's your update; what say you? Yamauchi and Sony are probably the best sources, and perhaps that listing on the Sony Style store is the biggest, most reliable hint. Still, there's no way of telling until the official word arrives.

GT5 will be huge when it launches. It willy really, really have to be, at this point.

the 20th of november is a saturday, games usually release on a tuesday. the 30th is a tuesday. i said this weeks ago but it will probably be nov 30th, dec 7th or dec 14th.

I've had my Collector's Edition preordered for months now. At this point whether it comes out end of November or around Xmas I'm at ease because I'll have my copy day 1...though the sooner the better.

I preordered my collector's edition back in July from amazon with release date shipping so when ever it launches I'll be playing it on day one.
November 30th would be sweet but I'll just concentrate on a mid December release.

How about a US drop date of 11/23?

That's 3 weeks from the original, notional date. If there was just a wee hiccup in the manufacturing schedule, copies of the game could be available by the 23rd. It's a Tuesday after all...

Fingers crossed for November 23.
People already die on black friday from being trampled on, imagine if GT5 released on that day you won't only get trampled, you'll be chased by a gang of people for your copy.
My copy is coming by a UPS truck on the launch date So I'll be safe at home experiencing perfection :P

I'm getting tiered with these all updates,
now i actually dont care about that just let it come out when ever they want
but the one only fact that nobody can ignore that this game will be the NO-1 game and everyone will buy this game for sure whether it will be released now or later
people this game will ROCK your world for ever and will be never the same again

Maybe I am too optimistic but I belive GT5 will launch on nov 11. Because on Nov 11 will be PS3 "birthday" and it would be a most reasonable birthday gift for all PS3 owners.
PS. Nov 11 is also my birthday.

Several hundreds of people will die in stampedes of people trying to get GT5 on time for Christmas.

I know that there is a $100 bundle thing that i preordered. I honestly dont know what comes with it because i preordered it so long ago :D
I remember it being worth $100, but you might want to ask your Gamestop guy what it comes with.

December 7th.

I dont know how long it takes for a game to go from the presser to the store shelves, but Sony should know better than to piss around with this game. Its not that it needs to be out by Christmas, it needs to be out ASAP in order to keep gamers happy. No matter how great the game is, people will remember this and will think twice about pre-ordering GT6. Sony can't risk losing tons of preorders so they need to do everything they can to get this game in our ps3s.

this is so true, I saw a graph showing the preorders for GT5 up to the announcement that it was delayed it was in the hundreds of thousands then it drops to like 10-20 thousand. I;m not sure it is true but I keep hearing so much hate towards this game because of it's delay.
late November would be great, early December is good, Mid December is OK, late December is pushing it, 2011 is out of the equation.

Absolutely. Anything past Dec 14th is too late, imo, but Nov 30th or Dec 7th seem to be the best bet.

Whats interesting is that Sony's own site lists Nov 30th as the date, but subject to change. Of course its just a placeholder, but maybe thats what they are trying for.

I see GT5 releasing in mid December. I have no Idea how long it takes to get the game on store shelfs once the game is finished. I don't think it will take more then a month or so, maybe 1.5 months that would put it in Dec 14-21.
When it get's here, it get's here but if it get's here to late PD and Sony will pay.

i just hope it lives up to expectations!
i mean its been in development for 6+ years!
sony have been relying on it, this is there biggest series, bigger than MGS!
so if this tanks, well, there going to be feeling it for a long, long time!
id put my money on december 9 which is a thursday which is when most games release and is also when gt5 was suppose to release.

theres no hope it releasing in november, it takes a good few weeks to press the games and get them to stores so the chances of it being pressed, packaged and delivered to every store worldwide in the matter of 3 weeks.

plus sony just moved the competition end date from nov 4 to dec 9th from the original date, to dec 9th the date i think it will release.
plus sony moved the GT5 faceplate from the 4th the original date to december another indication it wont be out this month.
will be seeing pigs eating purple aliens and flying backwards through space before GT5 releases!!!!!

Heh, well my sister went to pick up my pre-order today, even though I told her it had been delayed, and they said November 26th is the projected release date. And you know what, unless I get confirmation otherwise, that's what I'm believing. Now, I'm on bended knee praying to Kratos (the closest thing to a god for video games) that this is correct, and also that he won't rip my head off for being impertinent.

I have had my copy pre ordered for over 3 years now so a couple of weeks really isn't going to bother me. I will be getting it day 1 & that's all that matters to me.
