Gran Turismo 5 Leaked Intro Video Sneaks Onto Web
Another leaked Gran Turismo 5 video has surfaced (or so it seems).
The first featured what appeared to be a lucky early adopter, running down the Trophy list for the highly anticipated racer. This one here features the intro movie we'll all see so I suppose if one is anal enough, they'd call this a "spoiler." But as far as we're concerned, racing games can't really have spoilers, so too bad. The sound isn't exactly perfect but at least you can watch it:
It starts off being very...let's say, mechanical, and then hits the next gear and gives us that patented GT glossiness. So, what do you think? It certainly seems to be the real deal and when we finally have the game in our hands, we'll be able to find out. For now, it's all about the waiting...the waiting...the waiting that kills...

Thankfully, it has custom soundtracks, so I won't have to listen to the garbage they undoubtedly packed the game full of.

At least GT5 is looking like I won't have to close my eyes to imagine it, anymore.

Next year i'll be buying a 2012 focus, assuming it doesnt end up being junk (which i dont expect). Its more practical than fun, but i'm ok with that. It will have an option for a 1.6L turbo with 180hp@5000(i think, dont quote me on the rpms). It should be pretty decent considering.

Not quite sure which insecurities you have that caused you to feel it important to first laugh at then correct me on a genuinely unimportant detail when considering the context of my post.
But whatever makes you feel validated, kiddo.

Seems to me it is a leaked version running on a hacked console but I thought this whole new delay was to put the 3.5 SDK on the disc which has yet to be hacked.
I guess what I really want to know is how did this person get the copy of the game so early? Developers kid?

Most of the new games seem to be able to run just fine without the need to update, however there is no multi-player online support via PSN.
People who bother to go through FTP'ing to there hacked console and changing these files are always running the risk of making a mistake and damaging their systems, but again, it seems the hacking community has been quite "good" clearly explaining what to do, and people seem to be playing it already... Similar for Black Ops and MOH. Nothing is immune from the hacking antics of the community now.
I was amazed to see another effort called XKAI Link... which is a homebrew LAN over INTERNET app that actually does permit 3.41 consoles to play online, directly connecting to PS3's over the internet so you can play with friends. I have heard roumers that an alternative P2P LAN-based internet lobby is in the works for console owners who have yet to update... and there is a "homebrew" PSN store called PSX Store which seems to look and feel similar to the legitimate PSN store. Interestingly enough, they only host demo files.
Amazing what they are doing in some respects, but it must make Sony shiver...

But GT5? Oh yeah, I think it'll annihilate Forza 3--I might miss the forgiving, not to mention lazy, rewind feature from Forza 3. Ultimately, GT is going to cause Forza 3 to be closed in it's dark lonely case for a long, long time. long time
Maybe I'll pull it out just to compare how big of a gap there is between a finely tuned 360 racer to a finely tuned PS3 racer.

I think it demonstrates to us that these sleek, powerful cars start as matter unformed from raw resources. Yet despite their crude beginnings of production, these engineered marvels are so much more than just the dust of the earth. For me, the video creates a great sense of appreciation for how far we've come with automotive engineering.
