GT5 Hits Store Shelves In Two Weeks?
The launch date saga continues and this time, we might actually have some semi-official information.
According to an Indian source, Sony has confirmed to Indian retailers that GT5 will launch on November 24. Now, if you didn't know, India is part of the SCEE territory so maybe it's safe to assume that such a date goes for most of Europe and the Middle East. It seems GameZen, a Bangalore-based store, received confirmation from Sony's Indian distributor, Milestone Interactive, although the latter has asked that GameZen not take orders just yet. Furthermore, this jives with what we've been hearing throughout the past day or so; members on the NeoGAF message boards and GTPlanet have hinted at a November 24 release date as well. For the record, the 24th is a Wednesday, which is a day later than most new game releases in the US (most new titles hit on Tuesdays). With all the information we currently have, perhaps it's time to expect GT5 within the next couple of weeks...
And if it does arrive this month, racing fanatics everywhere are going to be quite happy. It will also only be three weeks past the originally anticipated November 2 launch date.

The game is finished, Copy's are being shipped off to retailer and there are people who have it. Nov 23/24 is very likely. For us in the USA black Friday is on the 26, So this will be great for them.

So as Ben says, the only official date ever given was Nov 2nd, but there were a whole lot of strong hints of a Oct 2009 release during the late summer of 2009, just no specific dates.
