Blizzard Exploring Possibility Of Diablo III For Consoles

This even includes Blizzard, a studio that tends to stick to the PC and Mac. As most of you probably know, they're currently working on Diablo III and in the past, there have been rumors of a console version. Well, the studio is indeed exploring the possibility: after some new job listings popped up on Gamasutra - for a Lead Designer and Lead Programmer for a console version - Blizzard posted an update at the official Diablo community site:
"We're exploring a Diablo-related concept for consoles and are currently looking to fill a few senior console-related positions on the Diablo III team. As we've said in the past, with proper care the gameplay could suit the console platform, and we're interested in seeing what talent out there might be interested in such a project. If you're passionate about all things Diablo and have the requisite skill and experience, then head over to our jobs site to check out the positions and apply.
Please note that this is not an announcement of a console title. We are first and foremost developing Diablo III for Windows and Mac PCs and don't intend to allow any possibility of a console interpretation to delay or affect the release of the game."
It's not really unprecedented. The original Diablo did release on the PlayStation back in 1998. Of course, in those days, it made a lot more sense to play it on PC and although Diablo III will probably still be best on PC, we would expect a console version to be comparable. Cross your fingers and we'll keep you updated.

Blizzard has always been known to take their time with their games. They are perfectionists as along the same lines as Hideo Kojima and Kazunori Yamauchi. They may take forever with development but it's all worth it in the end.

A console version of a diablo 3 would limit hack damage :D :D
And trophies or gamer score would just make it more appealing to some ( like me lol )
Damn I can't wait to try different builds and duel my life out lol. Sure hope this thing is going to be out before I get too old and senile to play XD

I like dungeon crawlers in general especially with the option of 4 player co-op. Actually I also find Dungeon Hunter: Alliance interesting seeing it has that feature. Even it is a somewhat looking cartoony iPhone game being given the HD makeover I'm keeping an eye on it. This is not meant as a jab, based on the screenshots I've seen I'm somewhat liking the art style (especially considering it's an iPhone downloadable port). DeathSpank is also appealing; the demo is quite fun and funny.

Onto the topic: The only way that a direct port of Diablo 3 would work (I'm working under the assumption that it still plays in the same way the original did here) is if it utilises the PSMove, because it seems to me that the control scheme wouldn't really seem right with the DS3.
Which makes me think that this is would be a spin-off. And if that is the case, I'm thinking a Demon's Souls style control scheme. Which would of course, be awesome. That is all.
Except, speaking of Blizzzard, weren't we already promised a console game from them... Starcraft: Ghost anyone? Yeah, that kind of dashes my hopes for this. In short... Never going to happen!

though id much rather doom than RAGE, doom 3 is the last game i can honestly say genuinely scared me.
yea, its not suppose to be a scary game, but you cant deny it was one freaking awesome game!!!!!
since duke nukem 3D is getting a HD remake, maybe someone should get into touch with ID and see if they will let them do a HD remake of doom 1 and 2.
now that would be sweet!

And something off topic here, did anyone read about PSDowngrade?
It seems that a way to downgrade the firmware has been confirmed.

once you downgrade, if you upgrade thats it your stuck at the upgrade.
so its not like you can upgrade to access PSN than downgrade, rinse and repeat.
give it a few weeks and it will be free, but you can only use it once so whats the point?
