GT5 Not Delayed In Europe, Sony Says Nothing Has Changed
Okay, everyone just take a deep breath...that's it...don't worry. No need to hyperventilate or break something valuable.
You may have noticed that several sources (like this one, for instance) have been tossing out rumors of a two-day delay for Gran Turismo 5 in Europe. It seems various Sony websites in Italy, France and Germany showed GT5 with a November 26 release date as opposed to the recently confirmed November 24 date. Obviously, this caused a whole lot of rampant speculation; some were concerned that although it was a small delay, it might be a bad indicator, and the US would soon get bad news... But you needn't worry; Sony has confirmed to Kotaku that nothing has changed.
"We've announced the date as the 24th and have not changed that at all."
Doesn't get any simpler than that. You can now put down the torches and pitchforks; we know most of you were preparing a raid on either SCEA or Polyphony...or Kaz Yamauchi's house. Obviously, though, nobody is going to be truly happy (or 100% convinced) until the game is in the PS3.

it does depend on how special the game is and what is coming out around it. there is no setting in stone for release dates, its the same for the the PSN.. we take it for granted that new content will come out on Tuesdays for the states and weds for the UK, but it can come out at any point, there are no rules (and I have asked that question on the EU blog).
but I think it works out well for us and the game companies the days we are used to.
personally I like getting new games released on a Friday as it means I have the weekend to enjoy it!
....and with you guys getting the games on Tuesday, it also means that if the title is RUBBISH, we in the UK get a three day heads up! lol.
there's always a silver lining...

the EU date for GT5 is the 25th not the 24th.
im pretty sure it will be, EB normally get big releases like this a good week or so early.
they dont have GT5 yet, asked the manager when its coming in he told me they have not been told yet.
cant believe the lack of advertisement for this too!
i mean this is the biggest game to ever hit the ps3 so far, and will probably be the biggest game to EVER hit the ps3!
so wheres the advertisement?
thats what i cant understand about sony, they refuse to advertise there products and instead advertise either crap games, or old games.
lost count the amount of times i have seen fifa 2010 adds, and adds for the unbelievably crap new cricket game.
they could advertise the biggest game to ever hit the ps3, or some crappy cricket game.
so which do they choose?
its almost like they dont want there games selling well!

most games release here on a thursday, i think one company delivers all the games.
NFS HP and ACB released on thursday, so thats probably why its releasing on thursday instead of a day or 2 earlier otherwise they would have to do 2 shipments.
games normally arrive in store a week prior to release.
