Square-Enix Talks FFXIV PS3 Updates And Differences
The PC version emerged half-broken from the development room, but given the extra time, PlayStation 3 owners are hoping for an extremely spruced-up version next year.
So how are things looking for Final Fantasy XIV on the PS3? Well, Square-Enix has finally started talking, and both producer Hiromichi Tanaka and director Nobuaki Komoto spoke about the current issues and how the team is optimizing the game for Sony's machine. Tanaka confirmed "some small visual differences" but also said they're working hard to "get the maximum performance out of the PS3's CPU." In the end, we should - theoretically - barely be able to notice the graphical differences. They also said PS3 players will play on the same servers as PC players and in order to encourage the two groups to play nice, Komoto said they might give merits to groups when they accept newcomers. There's also a chance that the PS3 version will get a few new tutorial elements; they might be added when Square-Enix issues a significant update for the PS3 version when it releases. The question is whether or not they can turn what many have called an unplayable game into a worthwhile experience...
Is it too soon to ask about Final Fantasy XV? Yeah, probably is. Oh well.

Well, they deserve all the bad press they get lately. If Versus isn't a fantastic experience you might as well just hit the flusher on my beloved FF series.

If the game is already broken on the PC, I sure as heck don't want the sub par PS3 port.

And no, I don't think that it is too early to be talking about Final Fantasy XV. Well, perhaps to talk about, but not to speculate on it...
Peace.
P.S. Awesome news and nowhere to post it: Apparently early PSP2 images have been leaked. And I like it... Or at least, I think I do. http://au.psp.ign.com/articles/113/1135225p1.html

how can they get ps3 players to play with PC players, thats kinda unfair no?
first its much easier to control games with a keyboard and mouse than it is the DS3.
secondly, well, they have been playing it for the last few months.......
eh, to be honest im not expecting this to be much better than the PC version.
my cuz who is a FF NUT! bought the PC version on release day, stuck with it for a few weeks hoping it would get better, than traded it in and grabbed kingdom hearts birth by sleep for his traditional RPG fix.
wish $E would stop screwing around with the psp, and release KH3 exclusive for the ps3 god dam it!!!!!!!!!

You gave me the middle finger with FFXIII
Level-5 will keep me busy with White Knight Chronicles 2. Oh! Guess what!? It also has an online community (for free!)
Watch them bitch 'bout the low sales on ps3 and then beg Microsoft to let them make it for 360
Predictable.
