New Catherine Trailer Will Keep You Awake Nights

Oh damnit, here we go again...down the insane, slightly erotic rabbit hole.

We've been treated to several promotional trailers for Atlus' new project, Catherine, and yet another has surfaced. True to their word, this one focuses a bit more on the horror aspect of the game; the first couple of videos revolved around the love triangle between Vincent, Katherine and Catherine. You can see the new 2-minute trailer below but don't blame us if you have nightmares about having ram horns.

Catherine is slated to launch in Japan on February 17 but there's no word yet on whether or not the title will come stateside. For the record, Atlus has noted the positive American response to their YouTube footage, so maybe they might consider - or are currently planning - a US release. We'll have to wait and see.

I hope they announce it for the west. I could use a good psychologically twisted game.

I just hope it doesn't take too long to localize and bring here, but Atlus has a good track record for bringing the greatness stateside. Like I said before, it would be kinda weird to make it for 360 at all if it was just for a Japanese release.

Anyway, sooo weird I want it. Is it too anime for you Ben? ;)

Weeeell......yeah, it is, actually. But if it includes a great, interesting story and a unique style of gameplay, I'll definitely want to try it.

All these trailers and it still doesn't resemble a game. Hopefully I get to at least press the X button during all those conversations?

At least they are trailers with some gameplay unlike a bunch of photos like La Noire and everyone is praising that game.

For the trailers this sorta like Silent Hill The Room.

Bad thing because I didn't like that game.

We assume with Noire that Bondi, using the Rockstar Engine, will have pretty solid gameplay.

And I assumed GTA4 was going to be awesome , but somehow I got bored with it very fast.

Also I didn't like The Gateway.

Not all of course there's awful mainstream crap like Naruto ,Dragon Ball Z or Bleach.

But there's also a bunch of great mangas /anime like Slam Dunk,Shamo or Berserk.

Don't dis on Bleach man! It's only become mainstream in the past year or two, and we can blame that on Cartoon Network!
It's all better in the original version with good subtitles.

This game kinda reminds me of FLCL, with the heavy sexual overtones and crazy psychotic stuff going on.

I said mainstream because they are the most famous, aside of that Bleach was just decent when the Hueco Mundo arc started was like the same thing over and over again , Tite Kubo know how to draw cool character designs but he suck has a writer.

This game looks mighty awesome!!! Kinda gives me a Persona 3 feels (but that's just me). A lot of creepy environment and paranoia going on... love it! So typical Atlus

I HOPE it comes out in the US.... definitely "M" rated (heck even if it gets an "A" rating I'm getting it). Doubt it'll see an Australia release

Oxvail,
I can't help it, but you really left yourself wide open when you wrote.....

"but he suck has a writer."

Oh, the irony in it all, LOL

Yeah, unfortunately, the Japanese just don't seem to have any decent voiceover talent.

So it looked like there were some 3D scenes there. Not that I care, 3D still hasn't evolved enough to NOT trigger a migraine.

Anyhoo, there is an article in the newest Game Informer about this game. So I'd imagine it will be coming stateside, just no release date. Gonna check if it's reservable at GameStop next time I'm in.
This game looks like a nice change of pace! Gotta at least give it a chance!

SCARY!.......The twin grandma that's scary :D

Anyway, this game looks better and better as more details are shown, could this be a horror/platformer/puzzle?

WHAT!?
oh come on, how can they keep this unuqie cool game to JP only?
this is exactly why i hate asian developers, they keep there games to themselves, or give it to everyone else months later.
if western games can release worldwide, and within a week or so of original launch than why cant theres?
really wanted to get this its looking really cool, and unique never played a game like this before.
could count on a single hand the amount of times ive been able to say that about todays games.
