Sony Teases "Exclusive PlayStation 3 Reveal"

Hey, we haven't played this game in a while. It's the "guess what the big announcement will be" game and of course, it's perfect for rampant speculation.

Okay, it's pretty straightforward- as you can see, it seems Sony is planning a big "exclusive PlayStation 3 reveal" for Sunday, December 12, the day after the VGA Spike Awards. We won't talk about the latter because it seems some are none too happy with the nominations this year, but perhaps it'll all be overshadowed by Sony's news the next day. What could it be? Now, it might have something to do with a big AAA title for the PlayStation Move - which it desperately needs - or it could be another exclusive service for the Network. But of course, everyone is hoping for a PS3 exclusive title. Whether that be a new IP or a name that is familiar to all remains to be seen; Uncharted 3 seems to be the front-runner right now, which makes sense, as it has now been over a year since the magnificent Uncharted 2: Among Thieves hit. But then again, maybe it's something even bigger and even more earth-shattering...

Don't even bother with the FFVII remake malarkey. We can't take any more of that. It's just too difficult to consider because the crushing disappointment is always inevitable.

That FFVII remake is quite the running gag around here lol been hearing about that for years now. I would much rather see a new, old-school style FF or new IP. Something that the old Squaresoft would be proud of perhaps. Bring back the Chrono series maybe? That would be too epic to comprehend for me.

I'm guessing it's a teaser for Uncharted or something that we're all familiar with. I can't think of what else it could be really.

That's because pretty much everyone with a heartbeat wants an FFVII remake. Honestly, would you pass it up? But a new SquareSoft IP would be great too.

I'm thinking Uncharted 3. Although Sly 4 is a distinct possibility, considering the apparently official trailer in the compilation. Maybe it's the reannouncement of The Getaway, or Eight Days? Maybe Kingdom Hearts 3. Oh, these Sony people are tricksy... Maybe it's Santa Monica's new project... or Heavenly Sword 2? Hell, maybe it's the official reveal of the PSP2... Oh, wait, no it says PS3...

A new Crash game would be cool, but Activision Blizzard were the last developers to make a Crash game. Crash Bandicoot games are multiplatform and this announcement is for a PS3 exclusive.

not exactly, siera were the last ones to do a crash game.
i read a article a while ago in PSM3 saying naughty dog bought back the rights to the crash series, which would explain why we have not seen one in a while.
it would be the best day of my life if ND announced a new crash game.
but alas, i seriously doubt that will ever happen.

@Lawless, I pray it is LoD 2, but I wouldn't even start to get my hopes up. SE is too far up their own behindes to make a main entry in the FF series exlusive to any platform nowadays.

The most logical answer would be Uncharted 3.

Well, all the gamers with a brain want an RPG so it won't be that. Sony is teasing it, so it won't be third party. Probably just Sly 4 because they like to reveal things people already know about. I hope it's something new, not Uncharted 3 because we know that is coming any way.

By the way, what are the Spike VGA nominees? I haven't heard of what they are so I don't know why people are upset.

Just another gaming awards ceremony. GoW3 got revealved there and so did U2 if I'm not mistaken. According to this artcile, the GOTY nominees are no good. I haven't heard what they are yet.

Wow those are pretty bad, and they've stacked the deck for GOTY as well. Not surprising. And this better be preliminary, because GT5 is gonna need to be in there somewhere.

Just beat New Vegas, after seeing how all my decisions actually affect the end this time (which was hardly the case in F3) I'm very pleased with the experience aside from the bugs, but I don't think it can win RPG of the year. They will want to make sure it goes to Mass Effect 2 so that it wins while it's still only on 360.

I'm speechless about the list, no Heavy Rain or even Mario Galaxy 2 for GOTY?

And most anticipated games list is so messed up.
I can understand for Gears 3 but.........no Twisted Metal? MvC3? Crysis 2? RAGE? Bulletstorm? Star Wars Old republic? Killzone 3 Hitman 5? Mortal Kombat? Duke Nukem?
And wtf, Bioshock Infinite won't even come to light until 2012.

But no PS3 exclusives dominance is understandable, if you ask me, PS3's exclusives lineup for 2010 is weaker than 2009.

And I'm thinking the same as World, this better be preliminary in order for GT5 to be in there, IT HAS TO BE.

You can actually apparently pick whatever you want for the most anticipated game, but those are Spikes recommendations... And all I want to know is why the hell is Heavy Rain not even up for GotY. That's either a gross oversight, or just plain fanboyism.

It came out early 2009 for Japan and late 2009 in US.

That's roughly the time frame for Infamous/Uncharted 2.

So no, not too early.

Probably a little early for Europe since they just got it this Summer.

That may be true, but Demon's Souls is an entirely different kind of project to Uncharted. It makes more sense to compare it to other RPGs, but... even doing that, Dragon Age Origins released in 09, and 2 is coming next year. A two year gap for Fallout... You could be right. On the other hand, Final Fantasy.

I have a confession to make... I'm addicted to Demon's Souls.

I can understand why some people might not want a 2nd one though to not destroy what is perfection in that game, well as close to perfection as possible i should say. But i have confidence in them to make it just as good if not even better than the first one. :D

I know it may sound kind of wierd, but Road Rash is on the top of my "wish they'll make it" list. I've been on Chantix to get over my "FFVII must happen" addiction. It's... not working!

I would love to here any of these names on December 12th. I'll be bust playing Gran Turismo 5 for a long time, don't know how I'm going to get all of Sony's game's even broken in next year. Dirt 3 is surrpost to come out next year too. I know that this game will not be released next year, but I'm just say'n.
Maybe it's not a exclusive game, maybe it's... a move title. I hope it's one of the games I listed above.
The only game I care about wright now and will for a long while is GT5.

Who said GT6, we all know that is coming. PD is already working on it, but they do have some people working on patches and DLC for GT5... right?... RIGHT!?!?!
GT5 will be epic, perfect on launch. But I want to see cockpit view for all cars, at least a hood cam. I also want almost if not all tracks form past GTs and Slandered cars to be fully customized as well. I just wonder what more they could of done with the time they put in the Go-karts. Don't get me wrong, I love the idea, I'll spend a lot of time racing them. But I think there were other things that were more important. GT5 is being released 85% complete, I mean where Kaz wants it to be. With or with out DLC or a patch, I will enjoy GT5 for years. Only 4 DAYS!!!!

HMMMM, maybe it's not going to be a game announcement at all.

My money's on it being the official announcement and/or Playstation celebration for "VUDU"s new 1080p HD on-demand streaming movie service that's about to be added to the PS3's capabilities.

doubt it will be uncharted 3, its too popular a game, sony normally saves the most popular games for E3.
doubt it will be sly 4, sucker punch are working on infamous 2 now they wont want to take the limelight away from that.
i doubt it will be MGS or ZOE related, because if i remember right konami said hes announcing his next title next year.

id say syphon filter 5 since its been ages since the last one released, and its never really been a massive series.
or maybe medievil, sony Cambridge just had a job listing for a unannounced AAA title, and its been rumored for years that sony Cambridge are working on a new medieval title.
or maybe 8 days and the getaway 3 are FINALLY coming back!!!!!!!!
or maybe a new kill switch game.
cant remember if that was a ps exclusive or not, all i can remember was it was a freaking awesome game!

or maybe its something small for the move, maybe a new ape escape game.

i thought sony said they were going to show it off at TGS, have not seen anything since its announcement!
hope it goes back to the originals roots, the last one was utter crap!
same with the PSP titles, the first few were really good but the more recent ones were just a quick cash in and it shows.

AGENT for sure. rockstar were quiet for awhile until they started speaking more of L.A noire so i reckon they will start unveiling a few more of there titles that have been underground. but uncharted 3 is a high chance aswell. either one of those and i will be a happy chappy:-)

um... I doubt that. It's to soon. The PS3 is doing great, they would not enter fear with a PS4 announcement. They need PS3 sales. I see the PS4 coming in 3-4 years. every time "PS4" comes up I immediately think of GT6. I hope GT6 will have Drag racing. I think they have everything else now don't they?
know once Nov. 24 is over with and the time I an't on the race track I'll be anticipating Dec. 12. What could it be?

"Exclusive PlayStation 3 Reveal"

...which could refer to something other than a game, but certainly doesn't refer to PS4.

PS2 emulation confirmed! ;)

I feel quite confident that it's going to be Sly 4 after the teaser video in The Sly Collection.

If not that, though, I'm pretty sure Uncharted 3 is the best Christmas gift that they could give to all of us.

Dreamer me will continue to hope for a new Drakan, though. :)

Google TV for PS3. It hasn't (as far as I know) been announced yet but it has been strongly hinted at. It makes sense that they are holding this event the day after VGA as this would not be game related.

It also does say that it's an "Exclusive Playstation 3 reveal", but nothing about it being a game.

If this turns out to be true it will be a letdown in my opinion.

I'm hoping it's Starhawk. We all know this game has been in development for a long time, it's announcement would be big. I haven't had as much fun as I did when I was playing Warhawk back in the day.

War Hawk was the first game I played on the PS3, back in 2007 when I picked up the 60GB for $600. It was a blast heck we still play it some times.
I think Starhawk is the most game I want but Uncharted 3 is way up there too, there my top to most want game to be revealed. Both will be mine on D1.
For now it's GT5

What outlet will they be using for this reveal? If we knew that I think it would be easier to determine whether or not this announcement will be good or not.

I'm hoping it has something to do with Agent. It's been too long since we've had any news.

Thats what I was thinking. Whatever happened to that R* game Agent. Wasn't that an exclusive? They announced it at the '09 E3 and I havn't heard ANYTHING about it since!

It might top Black Ops on the PS3. Don't know about overall... of course, the original FF7 at the end of it's lifespan, did sell over 10 million copies, and another near 2 million as DLC on PSN...

I just hope it s not Uncharted 3 , can t believe so many people hope it s u3 that will be announced .

We all know it s coming , there is just no way that it won t be made .

I loved 1 and 2 but i want to see something announced that nobody saw coming or a new i.p

There is probably only 1 percent chance of it happening but i got my finger crossed for Legend Of Dragoon 2.

I hope that it's a brand new Silent Hill or a new, more realistic and non animated, Elder Scrolls title with trophies. Elder scrolls IV was too cartoony looking. The people glow with animation instead of looking natural. Personally I don't like toon games.

Ya , Blood Omen made somewhat alike Assassins creed ( more thinking about the maps )would be nice .

A new King field would be an amazing news ,i ll probably need to reincarnate about 10 times before seeing another one tho .
