Sony: Move "Legitimately" Hard To Find
It's not a gag. It's not a strategic move on the part of Sony to drum up interest for the holiday rush.
No, the PlayStation Move is in dire need of resupplying at many retailers, and that's a legitimate lacking. This is what Sony Computer Entertainment software engineer Anton Mikhailov told VideoGamer; after saying he thought the launch "went really well" and that they're currently "exceeding expectations," he added:
"We're legitimately bound by supply which is great, that's always better than being artificially bound [laughs]."
This comment comes directly after analyst Michael Pachter questioned the "so-called" lack of availability, as he said Sony shipped 2.5 million units to Europe and as sales are "nowhere near that level," it seems there should be plenty of packages to go around. But as Mikhailov says, finding Move in the wild can be tough, and he also said most Move consumers are opting for a second controller.
"The other good thing is a lot of people are buying a second controller which is also awesome because one of the things we really want to enable is a two-handed experience. So we always wanted our launch to be pretty much playable with one controller so we don't alienate anyone and we have a low priced entry but we found that a lot of people after playing Sports Champions - that's the US bundle - they went out and got a second controller to play either two-player or two-handed gladiator duel."
Well, have you given Move a try? Or is it on the holiday wish list?

I'll probably get it if it's ever on sale. Which won't be for a long time.

I thought so about platinums too Alienange
, which I guess is generally the case. Bioshock however, has trophies regarding the Challenge Rooms in the list, so don't the rooms have to be downloaded and thus the goals met to platinum that title? I've only played through once so far though (with Trophy count currently at 40%). I guess they were added through the patch when I first installed it? Just wondering if anyone has attained 100% without the DLC.
Sidenote: Also as for trophies I find them to be a bonus and appreciated, as they can add replay value, determination and extra gratification. I don't think they're necessary though. I just started Folklore this past weekend. If you haven't played it let alone heard of it, there's a demo on the PSN. Even though it has no Trophy support, nor am I very far in the game I'm finding it very... enchanting.

Simply put though, no. DLC trophies are never needed for the platinum. None of them. You need them to reach 100% obviously, but the platinum pops when you complete all the trophies found on the original disc.
With games automatically being patched it was sometimes hard to determine which trophies were from the disc and which were from dlc so games now have a little + in the top left corner do indicate they are simple extras.
I hope that helps. If not you can pm me and I can help you further.

I think that was clearly explained enough.
So Bioshock for example, even though those dlc trophies were automatically downloaded through the update, they are not necessary to obtain platinum, but they are to attain %100. Now to distinguish the extra dlc trophies from the original ones necessary to platinum a title, the dlc ones have a small plus sign. Also I take it the extra dlc ones are added through a patch regardless if the dlc is downloaded or not (as a compatibility thing).
Hope I'm understanding correctly. Thanks again.

As for Move's games, I'm a big fan of Tumble, and I've hear good things about Beat Sketcher. I didn't quite enjoy Heavy Rain with Move...the movements just didn't seem natural the way they should.
Anybody tried out Sly with Move?

Watch: the chameleon grabbing, two-hand fireball, and statue carvings will eventually make it's way into mini-games.

Its only now you're figuring this out? As with all add-ons you'll never find a developer doing anything unique or creative with it other than makings clones of the tech demos shown for it. To this end this just demonstrate why things such as Move and Kinect is a waste of time and money for both developer and consumer.

Sounds like a sideways dig at Kinect to me :)
I'm with Lawless though, I won't be bothering until there is something that I must own. I do want everything PS3 has to offer, but the launch titles are meh. Though that's typical so I'm not worried. As far as the supply goes I believe them simply because motion gaming is a strange beast, from area to area it will depend largely on family and party gamers when it comes to popularity. Just because one area has a full shelf doesn't mean another isn't legitimately in need of resupply.

I mean seriously, has anyone else notice that Monster Hunter and Goldeneye on the Wii come with real controllers?

To DaK182,
Well I tend to agree with World. Do all the research you can on Move itself and the software that requires and/or supports it. I also recommend trying it in store set-up demos and friend's/family's place.
I was interested in the potential ever since E3 2009, ever before I had my PS3. Everyone else remember the tech demo at E3 '09? The day it launched and there was a tech demo at my local Future Shop I was right there to test it out (with Archery and Gladiator Duel from Sports Champions, with one controller mind you). I thouhgt it was actually impressive. Then again though I don't own a Wii (although there are a few, very few titles of interest) and perhaps may never (though I've played), I found the concept intriguing. To have something more advanced, immersive and accurate with more potential, plus HD sound and visuals on the PS3 very fascinating.
Though I was tempted to get it there and then, I held off (with some encouragement) as my birthday was approaching, followed by the holidays which are approaching. Well it turns out I received it as a bd gift (Nov. 18th) with an extra Move controller. While I was still interested and wanted to have it, I was on the fence at that point. This was due to the fact that there still isn't very much out for it (well that really demonstrates it's potential). Sports Champions is quite good imo, especially with an added controller and the option to play with others. The Shoot is also kinda fun. There's also Tumble and Beat Sketcher which I find neat, as do my niece and oldest nephew. The other one they very much like, and I find okay, is Start the Party. I did try the Heavy Rain with Move and my opinion is mixed on that. On one hand some of the motions were implemented well, and at other times they didn't feel as natural and were a little awkward. I only tried the demo with Move once so far though. Mind you all but Sports Champions, are demos on my HDD.
Pros:
-I find it functions very well with Sports Champions, Tumble and Beat Sketcher (though the demo doesn't seem to wanna let the controller calibrate anymore, hmmm...?)
-I find it functions well with The Shoot and Start the Party and some of the golf games
-Read it functions well with Heavy Rain and Resident Evil 5: Gold Edition (it's gotta be Gold Edition right? well even if not it's got all the DLC in it anyway)
-Could have great potential with a possibility of great games to compliment each other (Sorcery, KZ3 and Socom 4 maybe? though I hope for a wide variety)
-The PS Eye has video/voice chat capabilities, so good for chatting and alternative mic for mp games if you have none
Cons:
-Cost, though the bundle is more economical
$112.99 Can. avg bundle price tax included
$146.87 Can. avg for PS Eye, Move motion controller and Sports Champions seperately tax included)
-Not many exclusive Move required or supported games
-Most games currently available are mostly family friendly/oriented (which could be a plus sometimes for parents, grand-parents, aunts or uncles), though I'm hoping for more T-M games to even it out
-Some of the Move required or supported games are considered just okay to bad
-Low to practically non existant support (in terms of creativity, great implemintation, continued refinemet and upgrades, fanancial)
So to summarize, yeah read and watch all you can. Try it, if there's somewhere you'd like to try it as well. If you have played Wii and/or were interested in the concept, it's kind of like that, but quite a bit better in my current experience (though at first in can be frustrating if you don't calibrate correctly). Overall I like it, glad I have it and usually have fun with it.... and yes still reffering to the Move. :-P I can totally understand why some people are/would hold off right now also.
Hope this helps.

It's just... for the money... there's a couple other things I want FIRST. It's on my radar, though.
