Final Fantasy PS1 Classics: Most Wanted Remakes
Fans have been calling for remakes for years, but Square-Enix and other publishers have turned a deaf ear to such requests.
Even so, the gamers won't stop hoping. According to Andriasang citing a poll from Goo Ranking, the Final Fantasy franchise tops the list of games fans would most like to see be remade. In fact, VII, VIII and IX are all in the top 3 and VIII was actually most requested. It was a small survey that took place in the month of October, but it's worth noting and certainly worth discussing; here's the top 15 of the list:
1. Final Fantasy VIII (Square)
2. Final Fantasy VII (Square)
3. Final Fantasy IX (Square)
4. Xenogears (Square)
5. Valkyrie Profile (Enix)
6. Paraiste Eve (Square)
7. Ghost in the Shell (Sony)
8. Bakusou Dekotora Densetsu (Human)
9. Klonoa: Door to Phantomile (Namco)
10. Dino Crisis (Capcom)
11. King's Field (From Software)
12. Segare Ijiri (Square)
13. Legend of Dragoon (Sony)
14. Front Mission Alternative (Square)
15. Vagrant Story (Square)
Yeah, that's quite the list. Can you imagine getting high-definition remakes of these memorable experiences...? We've been asking for FF remakes for God knows how long, but so far, Square-Enix has had other plans. Perhaps if more people can convince the company that a FF remake project is a good idea, they'll finally get the hint. But don't hold your breath.

As i've said before, i'm on the fence when it comes to Final Fantasy remakes. Given SE's track record this gaming generation, at least right now I don't trust they'd do them right. However if the original minds from Square, Monolith Soft, and Sony came together again I would absolutely have not a shred of doubt.

On a side note, Ben I noticed a commercial for DJ Hero 2 had a citation from PSXExtreme. I honestly had no idea this site was that well accepted and used in the actual gaming world, but I'm very happy it is. I love this site, and I'm proud to be part of the community.

And I'm really surprised FFVIII beat out FFVII in popularity. Just cause it seems FFVII has been the more popular title as it generated a spin-off CG movie and PSP game.
Interesting that Ghost in the Shell made the cut. I did actually play the PSX game back in the day. At least the one where you maneuvered the Tachicoma tank-thing.

Every girl he's ever dated has long black hair and fair skin, too. lol!
He actually, nerded up and learned some CG design and is making a FF8 sequel in the form of webisodes. lol.... *sigh* ah well, he's a great guy. Except for the time I bought DQ8 and HE beat it before me..... jerk....

Alas, it was just a tech demo though. And SE ultimately has no brain any longer.

While I would prefer the latter for most of those games, it is unlikely coming from those companies. I would definitely settle for HD upgrades though, cuz they look so horrible on HD TVs. At least they tend to look pretty good on PSP though.

But, no, we can't ask them to do something as insane as make a game that the whole world has been clamoring for for half a decade which could single handedly outsell any RPG ever made and possibly even a CoD game or two. That would be suicide to make a game that everybody wants. It's madness, makes no sense to go after profit if that means bringing back the battle system and gameplay that everybody wishes never left in the first place because everyone needs must love killtubes and constant twitchy action now.

But if I could have it my way ( and I wish I could ) I would like a remake of all of them. But not a square-enix remake. I would want an old school, still know how to make an amazing rpg square SOFT remake.
But, if wishes were anything, than id be something. Or something like that

They want to make games with awesome graphics, and don't care about anything else.
On a side note: they should re-release FF 1 to 9 with enhanced graphics and trophies.... but I don't see them doing that.

The crowd went WILD when Nobuo's name was mentioned. Another SE exec. was in attendance, and when they mentioned his name is was like, "oh... hey... yay....".
When they announced Nobuo's song's the crowd went freaking nuts. Then they announced FF13 and FF14 songs, not by Nobuo, it was sort of polite clapping you heard.
Nothing from FF12 was played.
Anyways, I think to me it's obvious why people hold those classics so dear while the more modern (SE) iterations are good, but lack that 'X' factor.
