Funky Lab Rat Lands On PSN Today
There are just too many giant blockbusters out there. Sometimes, we need a break. Sometimes, we need something simple and silly.
Today, Funky Lab Rat has landed on the PlayStation Network, and it's a 2D platformer that features 81 challenging levels and a time-rewind feature that might keep you playing for hours. You can find the relevant details over at the PlayStation Blog, where we learn the game is exclusive to the PSN and it is compatible with either the standard Dual Shock 3 or PlayStation Move controller. Diego, a super-powered rat, is trying to escape from a diabolical - yet oh so colorful - lab, and you must make it to the final gate by overcoming numerous obstacles. Time is your friend; you can freeze it and rewind it, so take advantage!
Yep, 81 levels over 10 worlds should offer plenty of longevity, and don't forget about nabbing those pills to acquire rewards, medals and Trophies. It costs $9.99 and could be well worth the investment, especially if you have a thing for platformer/puzzlers. This seems like a more fast-paced - albeit not as complex - version of Braid, and there's nothing wrong with that.

It's often said that there's a lack of great games made specifically for the Move. But perhaps the PSN would be the best avenue to fill that void until the heavy-hitters arrive (e.g. SOCOM 4, Killzone 3, etc.) I hope the controls would be very responsive!
