New Ghostbusters Game Goes Digital In The Spring
You know, Ghostbusters: The Video Game was pretty good. It was quite entertaining and thanks to favorable reviews, it sold over 1 million copies.
So does this warrant a sequel? Well, yes and no. It warrants a follow-up title, but one that isn't a big-budget production. According to GameHunters at USA Today, Wanako is currently developing Ghostbusters: Sanctum of Slime, a downloadable installment for the PSN, XBLA and PC. It's a four-player adventure (both locally and online) where players strap on a proton pack and take down the invading spirits. Included are "gigantic bosses that require teamwork" and several different attacks, like the proton stream, plasma inductor and fermion shock. Unfortunately, none of the original actors are scheduled to be involved in the game but as consolation, we'll finally get to drive the Ecto-3. As you can see by the screenshot, this appears to be a top-down action game; this style has lent itself well to the downloadable realm, as Dead Nation and Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light have excelled using that view.
Ghostbusters: Sanctum of Slime should be ready to go in the spring. Who's up for some digital ghost nabbing?
