First Resistance 3 Gameplay To Debut At Spike VGAs

Although the PlayStation 3 crowd will go crazy for Killzone 3 in February, a good many are also lying in wait for Insomniac's long-awaited Resistance 3.

We know the game is in development but thus far, all we have is a live action teaser that debuted at GC 2010 earlier this year. Clearly, they put a ton of effort into that slick, professional video but we still want to see some in-game footage...and we don't have to wait much longer. It has been revealed that R3 gameplay will show up at the Spike Video Game Awards, which takes place on December 11. If you read the Game Informer feature on the hotly anticipated FPS, you've got some information and details, but everyone will be talking about the in-game stuff! We're all sort of wondering if R3 will represent another departure; the sequel was significantly different than the original, and it's possible that Insomniac has shifted gears once again. But in what direction...?

Well, it doesn't really matter. We just wanna see it.

Now that's just a silly assumption. Why would they announce which game before the offered date? Besides, this will be at the VGAs while Sony's reveal is the following day.

Where it says "has been revealed " I didn't think it was an actual announcement, rather a leak of some sort (and sony aren't exactly good at at keeping secrets) & I assumed it was meant to be the un-revealed exclusive.

Theres still hope then :)

Can't wait. Although the awards may mean next to nothing, I watch almost solely for the reveals and debuts.

Sweet! Can't wait to see all of the new games announced, or detailed at the VGAs. And Resistance 3 is damn close to the top of the list.

I'm glad Insomniac is still supporting this franchise, it deserves some respect and I wanna see that gameplay too. Does Spike have an HD alternate channel?

Anyway, I'm sure it will release far enough away from KZ3 this time to be effective in sales.

And we're all ready for some gameplay footage....the live action stuff is fun, but kinda pointless.

You could have seen the first wave of Chimera when they swarmed in on a scouting mission over at New York's Times Square.

They were all on a feeding frenzy for free handouts, at the M$ Kinect launch.

I only have 3 shooters that I will probably invest in next year. Killzone 3, Socom 4 and this game Resistance 3. Other than that, I've got enough other shooters to keep me occupied. Definitely looking forward to some footage of this one.

Iirc, this is the longest Insomniac has ever worked on a game. I'm excited. If anyone can breathe life into the stale FPS genre its these guys/\.

Oh man hopefully they can fix what R2 had wrong. Dont get me wrong it was a good single player campaign but the multi-player was just bad. I mean, REALLY bad.

I'm really hoping they bring back the 8-person COOP missions. Those were a blast to play!

I finished the Single-player campaign in a few days, but played the COOP for months after. Was amazing fun!

I really wonder how this is going to turn out as Nathan hale is dead so???? Who's up? Maybe the guy from retribution? We'll see I hop ethey redo the multiplayer the online was sorta laggy a bit.

Insomniac has a real opportunity on their hands here. No, R2 wasn't perfect but it was fun and really well made. With the right tweaks there is no doubt it'll surpass KZ3 in sales numbers and be the exclusive FPS to beat.

I think I prefer the first Resistance overall as well, especially being able to play through the campaign again in co-op. I also liked the fact that other weapons were unlocked after playing through the campaign (single or co-op). I have played it twice all the way through; first solo and then co-op. Would like to play through it again solo.

As for R2, I kinda did like being able to play competitively or complete co-op missions split-screen while having the option of playing online simultaneously. I really liked that. I didn't like however, the fact that the campaign didn't have the option to play co-op. How's about the idea of a seperate paralel (real) campaign, for up to 4 players? Something like a four (or more) person team (but there being at least 4 slots for human players) who had a side story that didn't just compose of self contained side missions. Hmmm, I don't know even know if I would prefer that. Just a thought.

So essentially though, I hope it blends the best of both games while adding a little something new and fresh. I have both so far (R2 being the Collector's Edition, the only CE of any game I have) and am definetly interested in R3. Probably will end up getting this at some point.

Why are you all asking for uncharted 3 confirmations? When a game gets that many GOTY awards and sells that well, you don't have to worry about a sequel. It'll come. They probably just want to take their time because following a game as good as that is no easy task
