LittleBigPlanet 2 Box Art, Wrapping Paper, And Demo
LittleBigPlanet 2 will be downright massive when it arrives on January 18. Are you gonna be early to the party?
Sony has revealed a bunch of new details for the hotly anticipated Media Molecule production; first up, the box art, which you can see at right here. But then there's the Collector's Edition, which has a very different - yet still super cool - box and comes loaded with all sorts of stuff. Better yet, we now have a date for the playable demo: December 22 is the day it will be on the PSN, so mark your calendar. We've also heard that the online servers for the game's multiplayer aspect are nearly complete as the "final testing phase" occurs this month. Heck, they'll even have a complete Sackboy costume and holiday wrapping paper (I need some of that for my wrapping, damnit). The more advertising the better, no?
LBP2 will be a legitimate Game of the Year contender; its only crutch is that it releases so early in 2011. We're not allowed to forget it when it comes time for the annual awards next year, though!

Anyway, I'll do like I did with the 1st LBP & Fallout 2, just wait till after LBG 2 GOTY comes out later, so I can get all the extra's already included.

Hoping for more of this great creativity going forward.
I love the physics/mechanics of LBP2, it feels more authentic, and the animations are much engaging.
The sackbots add s whole new layer of fun to the game. The levels feel so alive with them in it.

I don't care about a Sackboy costume, but I would like a Plushboy... Too cute. Oh, and I'm thinking of picking it up early, but at the same time, I'm not sure if I'll be able to get the most out of it. Then, I did spend a ridiculous amount of time in the original trying for all of the costume pieces, and trying to make a level that I eventually scrapped. ARGH! And with Dead Space 2 and Killzone 3 releasing soon after... It's a no-win situation.
Peace.

For sure I'm getting this gem, the beta has been amazing. The hook, the sackbots, the more intelligent creations, etc. really add to a more authentic game. I really love everything they've added. The animations have been upped 10 times, and the effects (fire, neon, lighting, etc.) are even more impressive.
Although creating levels is not a requirement I plan to at least give it a good try this time.

I've had the Collector's Edition pre-ordered since June or July, I believe (I don't care to look at my open orders in Amazon at the moment to give the exact date).
Either way I'm purchasing this game to support Sony and for the super cool book ends. Either than that, I'll play this game to only enjoy it for what I KNOW others can love it for...then I'll put it away.
Unless of course, it takes LittleBigPlanet and throws it to another level that can't be reached..then maybe I'll put in some good hours in it.

So excited about those new gameplay elements, seemingly endless possibilities, and more Stephen Fry. And discovering them in the game is big part of the fun for me. Don't want the demo spoiling any of that :)
