PS3 And 360 Invade Enemy Territory
In the new generation, more and more titles are crossing over and between platforms, and that includes the PC. Quake Wars: Enemy Territory has become yet another previously-exclusive title to go multi, as Activision announced it will be releasing the slick multiplayer-focused shooter to the PS3 and Xbox 360. Developer Splash Damage won't be working on either, though; id Software will team up with Nerve Software for the 360 version, and Z-Axis for the PS3. Nerve has produced games like Return to Castle Wolfenstein: Tides of War and Doom 3: Resurrection of Evil while Z-Axis is responsible for the Dave Mirra Freestyle BMX franchise and X-Men: The Official Game.
"We're pleased to be working with Nerve and Z-Axis to bring the highly-anticipated gameplay from Enemy Territory: QUAKE Wars to the Xbox 360 and PLAYSTATION 3 system," said CEO Todd Hollenshead in the press release.
Gamers take control of the Global Defense Force to battle the nasty Strogg, the enemies common to the Quake series. The format is relatively unique, as it's based around completing a variety of objectives via teamwork and general strategy. We'll get all kinds of fun toys; jetpacks, teleporters, and of course, the accessible vehicles which are oftentimes invaluable. As you progress, you'll gain experience and "rank-ups," which is kinda like saying, "we're an RPG, but not really."
Activision didn't unveil any release dates, but we're hoping to see these console versions of Quake Wars: Enemy Territory this year.
