New Tomb Raider Announced, Young Lara Featured
The reboot of the Devil May Cry franchise is simply called "Devil May Cry" or "DMC." The fresh Tomb Raider? ...you guessed it.
Today, Square-Enix has announced a new game from Crystal Dynamics, Tomb Raider. It deals with a young and inexperienced Lara Croft who finds herself in a Robinson Crusoe-like situation at the start of her harrowing adventure. Perhaps the developers are trying to explain how Lara became such a bad-ass survival and action/acrobatics expert; said the press release:
"After a brutal storm destroys the boat she was traveling on, a frightened young woman is left washed ashore on an unknown beach. On her own but not alone she has only one goal, to survive.
Here begins the first adventure for a young and inexperienced Lara Croft in a story which charts the journey of an ordinary woman who finds out just how far she must go in order to stay alive."
If you're trying to get a picture of the game in your head, maybe it'll be tougher than you think. Crystal Dynamics boss Darrell Gallagher said quite simply, "Forget everything you knew about Tomb Raider." He goes on to call it a "character-defining journey like no other," so he has managed to pique our curiosity.
Tomb Raider will make its worldwide debut in the January issue of Strategy Informer, which will be available to the public on December 11. We're definitely hoping for a quality reboot; we haven't seen much of Lara this generation, although we reassert that Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light is one of the most complete, accomplished downloadable titles of 2010. Stay tuned for more on Tomb Raider.

I could clearly tell you never played Tomb Raider 4, this when the game was clearly a prequel to Tomb Raider.
anyhow argument aside, it would be interesting to see how further SE destroy this franhise as Eidos have. Still though its quite a shame that Adrian and Jermey Heath-Smith bailed on this franchise, this given the fact they really knew how to navigate this series and knew what the old school fans wanted.

I don't like how this game sounds, I want a game that plays like uncharted but totally unique, I want her to be haunting for treasures like the original.
well there are still hopes for my other reboots, Jet moto, Crash and MGS 1 and 2.
For MGS 1 and 2 I want it with the same story line but with voice acting and amazing HD graphics.

Although if Marky Mark does a have decent playing as Drake in the new Movie... How much you want to bet that we're going to see a Drake and Lara joint Hollywood adventure somewhere down the road....I hope not, but you guys know that someone in LA is already typing up a crappy script...There's already been discussion of who will replace Jolie...
I can picture it now...Drake and Croft getting ready to get into a a little PG-13 Hot and heavy petting, when Harrison Ford swings through the window on his Indiana Jones Whip yelling "No Drake! You can't nail this top heavy woman! She's your sister and I'm your Father!!"
Or something like that....Oh the horrors...

The lips, though, aren't masculine.
She has a tom-boy'ish look to her from what I can see. She just needs that backwards baseball cap =p

And yeah bring on the Onimusha..another I wouldn't mind seeing is another proper version of Tenchu...You know, from back when Activision put some effort into making a game.

@CH1N00K Bushido Blade was my favorite fighting game It would be nice to see it make a come back because the fighting game genre is lacking in the variety department only games you can chose from are SSFIV ,Tekken 6, or Blaze Blue. A Tenchu reboot would be awesome if they made it right of course it started sucking after the games went multi-plat. I really don't need say much about why the need to reboot Onimusha I'm sure you already know the reasons.

It also had a camera that was impossible to master. WHen people complain about NG's camera it suggests to me that they haven't learned how to control it right. BUt Shinobi (thinks of Moth Boss) you're making leaps of faith at times.
Nightshade was tons easier. I still liked it though.
I hope those two get a HD release for PS3.
