Resistance 3 Progress Report, Set To Launch Late 2011
We can't wait for Resistance 3. It's really the only reason we plan to tune into the Spike VGAs this weekend.
In the meantime, Insomniac Creative Director Marcus Smith has loaded up the PlayStation Blog with a "story so far" update that tells you everything you need to know about the new plot's background. There are some R2 spoilers - if you care - so fair warning. They tell you all about the main character, Joseph Capelli, who is hiding from the invading hordes with his wife, Susan, and his son, Jack, along with other survivors in the town of Haven, Oklahoma. It's not about fighting, anymore; it's about staying in the shadows and surviving. But when he's given the opportunity to do something about the Chimera, he strikes off across the country, heading for New York City...that ought to be one hell of a cross-country trek. The atmosphere is always downright awesome in these games, so we're expecting nothing less than brilliance in that respect.
You can also learn about how the Chimera now hunt humans with death squads, check out the new screenshots, and hit the link for that live action GamesCom trailer, which you've probably already seen many times. From a "treacherous boat journey" to weapon information (the Bullseye is back and the Marksman has been overhauled again), to enemy details to multiplayer stuff, it's a big update well worth reading. Hey, who likes upgradeable weapons? This guy.

Story wise I wish R2 would've ended differently. You get these special powers at the end only to get shot in the head. The Resistance series is great for the playstation and has one of the best story lines out there..

Doesnt matter to me though, I am still waiting on Resistance 3, Killzone 3, LBP2, inFamous 2, Bioshock Infinite, and The Last Guardian and I can die a happy man, AFTER I've been locked away in a windowsless room with those games for at least a year! LoL!

I thought the ending of R2 was neat, but kinda jarring and abrupt yeah. Not that I think those things make it horrible, just different. Overall though I liked it (except for the missing co-op main campaign).
As for the weapons, R:FoM had the weapon wheel while R2 had the main and a secondary option as anyone who's played it knows. Having a vast array of weapons available (once picked up of course) is cool, yet not as realistic as having two or three at once (especially depending on the size). In this regard I'm kind of torn as I like the expanded choice, but it's not as to be able to carry a dozen weapons (even in a game, movie or any other fictional/hypothetical situation). I guess it would be nice again to have the option, I'm all about options as long as it's not released with glearing bugs/glitches and devs continue to optimize/patch/upgrade their games until it runs the best it can.
Overall though hopefully they add all they can and really use the potential of those BDs.

What about that game makes it one of the WORST fps games youve ever played....unless you've only played about 4 fps's, in which case you at least have some type of an argument for saying that it's one of the worst....which it's NOT! but anyway, that's just my opinion.
