Dolled Up Catherine Graces Pre-Order Art Book

All dressed up and nowhere to go. ...or waiting for something.

As with most any game these days, Catherine will have its fair share of extra goodies for those who pre-order the game in Japan. According to Andriasang, Atlus will provide early adopters with a SoundDisk & ArtBook, which is exactly what it sounds like, and you can see the jacket image here. The book contains:

  • 11 classical arrangements from composer Shouji Meguro
  • An original jacket image from character designer Shigenori Soejima
  • A booklet with liner notes on all the songs from Meguro and a "making-of" for the jacket illustration from Soejima

As the site notes, this is a different look for the game's coy vixen, who has normally been seen with few clothes on, or sporting something simple. This dolled-up, more glamorous look is...well, let's just say they have some good artists over there at Atlus. The game's official blog also confirmed that certain retailers will get bonus items for pre-order incentives; details coming soon.

No, it hasn't been confirmed for North America or Europe. But we figure if we run enough stories, it might help to push Atlus in the right direction... We so ache for something fresh and original!

I hope it comes here, if for nothing else, then for the sake of innovation.

I've realized that with releases for PS3 like LBP and Heavy Rain, I've really taken a strong liking to pure original titles. Keep 'em coming!

Indeed! In a world of sequels, it really is so refreshing to see new, fresh and original games coming out. I can't talk for the other consoles but as a PS3 owner, I'm more than happy to see more games like this appearing. Lets hope it appears outside of Japan.

I may have to get the art book, even if I don't get the game. It looks like they have a talented artist behind the game.

As much as many people dismiss Anime and the art styles within it, there are a lot of very talented artists working in the genre, and not all of them create obscene or worrisome works. I doubt it will happen in my lifetime, but I hope that their talent is more widely recognized at some point, it deserves to be.

It's the tight pink dress that does it.

...more classy pink dresses in anime. Tell them. I'll buy it.
