Uncharted 3 Details: 3D, Storyline Info, Greatness Returns
It deserves more than one headline today. Not only because there's a lot of new information, but also because...it's freakin' Uncharted 3.
The big news today is the announcement of Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception, which is scheduled to arrive for the holiday rush next year. You've already got the baseline details and the teaser video; now it's time to head over to the PlayStation Blog and learn even more about the upcoming masterpiece. The primary goal is to create an "unmatched and extremely compelling interactive cinematic experience," which this series has done better than any other. Naughty Dog will also continue to push the capability of the powerful PlayStation 3 hardware "through constantly refined gameplay mechanics and technology innovation." But wait, there's more:
Drake will not only visit the harsh sands of Arabia, but he will also journey all over the world, which should result in the beautiful varying environments we all crave. The treasure hunter is in search of the "Atlantis of the Sands," so he and old friend Sully set off with visions of gold...but perhaps unsurprisingly, the lost city has a terrible secret... Competitive and co-op multiplayer will return as a quality complement to what should be an unparalleled single-player experience, and last but not least, yes, it will be available in stereoscopic 3D. Oh, and it is mentioned that the first two titles - Uncharted: Drake's Fortune and Uncharted 2: Among Thieves - have combined to sell over 8 million copies worldwide.
While some will say that's still too low, given the insane quality of the titles in question, we must remind you that the original came out at the end of 2007, when like 12 people had the PS3. Furthermore, one must be logical; you can't compare the sales of an exclusive title to the sales of a game on multiple platforms. Granted, there are now around 42 million PS3 consoles worldwide but if you make a game for both the PS3 and 360, that's a consumer crowd of over 85 million.
At any rate, we just can't wait. What is arguably the best franchise of the generation should amaze us all in less than a year.

Actually, the only relevant franchises M$ft owns out right are Forza and Halo and maybe Alan Wake (I’m not sure about Alan Wake though).
And no, M$ft doesn't own Gears. Epic does. M$ft just pays a butt load of money to keep it exclusive.

I disagreed not because I think your comment is stupid but it's just simply because I didn't agree with your statement. No more, no less.
As for the argument:
Why would 3D downgrade the quality of the game? As a matter of fact, it does the exact opposite. You need an extremely well optimized code to work in 3D, just think what happens with that 3D when it's not utilized, where does that extra "power" for the 3D comes from?
Exactly.
On a side note: ND stated that the 3D would be HIGH-Definition. Here's the run-down on basic stereoscopic 3D tech: Resolution is cut-by-half and so do the FPS (Frames-per-second). An example would be 1080p 60FPS (non-3D), becomes 720p 30FPS on 3D mode.
However, I've heard that there are "other" methods to the 3D interface which I do not know of. But if we look at what ND's statement regarding "high-definition" 3D, then they need to have a very HIGH definition on non-3D that is running on 60FPS. At least on the basic grounds I've found on stereoscopic 3D.
Something to think about.

I wonder whose decpetion they're talking about. Did Francis Drake decieve everybody with a fake deadbody that Nate discovered in the first game, and went on to Arabia? Or is Nate deceiving Sully and others for some mortal peril...?
Aaahhh...the gears have started to churn again

Demo ALREADY???? I hope he isn't talking about the little teaser we've already got. If not, this seriously might be worth a gander or two!

Resistance 3
little Big Planet2
Uncharted 3
Twisted Metal

Oh, and I don't ever want to see this franchise go to the 360.
It'll turn HALO on us.
